I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were about fetal crying? Not something ive come across before or thought about with my first pregnancy. Only askin cos my 6 year old ran into my bump today quite hard by accident and when she did i felt baby get bashed into my back - was very uncomfotable for me, must ve been worse for baby! Afterwards i could feel baby's back moving up n down almost like he was crying, you could see it from the outside and if i didnt know better it almost looked like it was me taking lots of short breaths. Ive noticed it once or twice before as well. Baby gets hiccups all the time and it felt like a much smoother and not so jerky movement at all, plus i would say a tad faster than hiccups. Im 35 weeks so baby is pretty much well developed. Anyone else experience something similar? Baby was asleep immediately before the bump and had a 'cry' (if thats what it was) for about 5 mins and is now awake and very active!

Oh wow never thought of this. Would love to know

Aw that's actually made me upset thinking of my LO crying in there *rubs belly*

I had this same movement, I asked midwife and she said its practice breathing which would make sense if the baby had been a bit shocked. I've never heard of babies crying in the womb x

oh I hope they don't cry in there :( *also rubbing belly* xx

Apparently it's been seen on 3D/4D scans-youtube it maybe :-( poor little bubs - *also stroking belly* !!

Oh no, the idea of bubs crying in there is so sad. I'm not able to cuddle it better

This is my baby girl when she was being poked and shaken by the ultrasound tech. She definitely has feelings, and got quite upset at that point.....cue picture..

Whether they cry I'm not sure but they can get grumpy, sad, or happy & content. Their little emotions are forming.

This picture breaks my heart when I see it. Poor little Millie! X
