So...

I went to labour and delivery this morning due to reduced movement from my (normally) very active LO since yesterday evening..he was still moving but not the same, and I was worried.

The staff were grreat - hooked me up to CTG monitoring for an hour, gave me an ultrasound scan...obviously LO was playing with mummy as on arrival to hosp he started moving normally :happydance:

They were quite happy with the results of CTG and ultrasound..but they have told me to come back tomorrow for another monitoring session.

So my first question to you lovely ladies is..if all is ok, why do they want to repeat tomorrow??

My second question is this: when the lady was doing the ultrasound, she said to me "ah, your baby wont be long now" and pointed to the screen. In the fluid it looked a bit like a snow globe - she said this was the fur / vernix that my baby is shedding and this means hes ready for birth??

But I mean, how long was she talking? A week or a month?? I asked her jokingly if that meant the baby wouldnt be late then. She raised her eyebrows and said definately not.

So..any ideas or experience of any og these things???

:hugs:

Vernix is a waxy coating that protects the baby's skin and it begin to disappear closer to birth. Lanugo is the hair that covers a baby and it starts shedding at 30 weeks or so, but my son was pretty furry coming out b
