When should lo be drinking from a cup? We have tried two cups now that both say 4months+ but LO refuses to drink from them and gets really upset by them. I have just been putting cool boiled water in - is that right or can I put some milk in?

I've just started introducing a sippy cup - just with a couple of ounces of flavoured water or juice. To be honest LO really doesn't quite get it yet so I wouldn't even consider trying his milk in it yet.

Ok thanks! I might just wash them up and put them away for a couple of weeks. Try them again when he is a bit older. I got a bit worried as the cups say 4 months so I thought that maybe he should be using one already but if your LO is 6 months and you have only just introduced I shall relax! Thanks x

I tried an ounce of water in one a couple of days ago but LO just didn't get it and threw it on the floor in frustration. I wanted to get her used to it before we start weaning though, so I'll probably let her have another go next week

our lo is 9 months and doesn't really get the sippy cup thing at all - we use a doidy cup with him but only really used it everyday in the last few weeks. he just didn't seem ready when we tried a few times before. I wouldn't worry too much they will all pick it up in the end in their own time x

My LO doesn't drink out of hers yet. I just give it to her empty to practice holding. I got her it because she's obsessed with my coffee mug so every morning we sit together, I drink my coffee and she plays with her cup :)

I really don't think it would occur to her to drink out of it just yet but maybe in a couple of weeks' time.

ive bought the Tommee Tippee cups with handles and attached the handles to his bottles to get him used to those luckily tt also do a weaning bottle so i have a few of those too but won't be using them yet he seems to like the handle s:)

Thank you ladies! Great idea chezziepie! I will see if our TT ones have handles that can come off! x
