Cute gender announcing idea...family doesnt live here!

i love the gender cake idea but we told everybody we are finding out jan 30 ... and we live 6 to 12 hrs away from our families ... any idea??

Or you can take the ultrasound and make cards and either email or mail them..

When I finally end up pregant I'll have the same problem all our family is 1800miles away... I do plan on staying team yellow, but would like to announce the pregnancy in a special way, if not in person..

Sorry, whats the cake thing??!!

You get a cake either pink or blue and have it frosted neutrally,, then when the cake is cut they'll see pink (girl) or blue (boy)

Some even have the ultrasound tech put it in a sealed envelope and then it is dropped off with the baker so the baby's parents don't know til the reveal..

i looked at cupcakes to be delivered. but where my mom lives they wont do it ... also my dad works in canada, my mom lives at their house in FL, my FIL lives in Houston and my MIL will be working in Boston at that time ...

Yikes..... You got a little bit everywhere.. So your going to have to mail something to everybody, or text? do they all text? or email? Maybe take a short video at the ultrasound and send them a dvd of it.. They wouldn't all find out at the same time tho.. Unless you put a "do not open til"

also my grandparents live in germany and dont do email ... but i might sent it to their neighbors and tell them to look at it there. my other grandparents are in tennesee, my husbands aunt and uncle are in southwest texas where his parents are more north

West Palm Beach Even if they did deliver it would cost you a ton to deliver everywhere.. LOL.. I would tell the most immediate people in a special way if you can come up with one, and everybody else would have to be through the mail or phone call.. Good Luck! Do you have names picked yet?

yes i looked at edible arrangement's ... to expensive, rather spent the money on something for the baby!
hope someone comes up with a cute idea...if not maybe gender cake a video of my DD Cutting(destroying) it and email it to everyone ... what do you think?

I think emailing a video is def the way to go.. It's more personal. You could do dd with the cake.. Or like I said before video the part of the ultrasound where they determine the sex.. That way it's like they're all there..

Silas is starting to grow on me, I had a friend name her baby that last year.. And it came out of nowhere, it jumped onto the top 100 baby names for last year.. Landon is cute too..

I'm actually not expecting (I don't think) nearing end of tww.

We have been discussing baby names, but nothing really decided yet.. I like unique names but on my most fave names it's hard to sell dh...

If you're also going to be surprised by the cake, you could have a conference call or a Skype session/video chat, or you could take a video and email it.

If you want to actually have them cut into a cake, i suggest a delivery from a bakery but that will probably get pricey!

We ordered ornaments (we found out around Christmas time) from a website on Etsy and they turned out awesome! We told her the gender once we found out, she made the ornaments up and mailed them a couple days later. Like you, we've got family all over so we figured this was easiest for us.

Everyone loved it (well, except my Step-MIL, but she doesn't like anything we do ) and it was a special keepsake. It is pretty difficult to keep the secret for the few days after we found out though!!!

Not sure how cheap/ expensive it would be but what about mailing a pair of cute blue or pink socks? They would go easily to different places and wouldn't cost much most than a letter x
