Today is 3dpo of cycle 6 ttc #1.

A little history on our situation:

DH is 45, I'm 28. Both of us are non-smokers, very rarely drink, and are runners.

After months of trying with no luck and my history of irregular cycles, DH and I underwent fertility testing last month. He had an SA and I had an HSG, mine came back normal, his not so much. While his total volume and amount of swimmers was about twice the minimum they are looking for, he only has 3% that are normal morphology and motility. This now puts us in the position of do we keep trying naturally as we have been, or do we go ahead and make the appointment with the infertility specialist and look into the possibility of having to do IUI, as my OBGYN went ahead and referred us out but still says that we should keep trying. DH and I have been discussing natural and homeopathic ways to improve his motility and morphology as a first option if this month doesn't work, which I'm thinking it won't. I didn't O until CD22 and typically have a 28 day cycle, although last month was 31 days (I was late for the first time 2 years, but I didn't take vitex for two months which might be why). Kind of hoping the HSG pushes AF back a bit, just in case one quick, non lazy (yes, my OBGYN called my husbands sperm lazy), gets through to my eggie.

Even before we got the test results back I pulled out all the stops with myself, I cut out coffee, took vitex, Royal jelly, evening primrose, EPA and DHA, a prenatal, extra zinc, extra vitamin c, and extra d3. I also started drinking spearmint tea. I also switched us to preseed for our lube as we had been using coconut oil previously.

We shall see what happens... I order us some Maca pills to take if this month fails.

Good luck Hun. When we were ttc no 1 I did most of what you did plus acupuncture. I think there's a lot to be said for doing things naturally if possible, but if not then at least the medical route generally has good results

I'm somewhat of a type A kind of gal with anxiety so I've had worries over my hubbys sperm.. There's this supplement called FertileAID that I came across and depending on how we do this cycle... It's yet another thing I might be looking into. But it claims to improve motility and morphology in addition to count... I can't really recommend it as I've yet to try it out but it might be worth consideration.

We're doing the same thing! Babyhopes.com has the tri-pack for men under the "male fertility" tab: FertilAid, CountBoost and MotilityBoost for about $65.00 for all three rather than the $99 on Ebay. My hubby came back with a low result from his SA a few months back and he just started this vitamin regimen this month...figure it can't hurt...and I am on Folate, PreNatal and BeePollen capsules...feel good about it and hopefully this'll equate to a healthy BFP :D

Fingers crossed for you!!!

Thanks ladies! I'm trying not to dwell on this too much, since stress doesn't help but it's hard! I ordered a 90 count bottle of 750mg maca that arrived today just in case we need to start taking it. I have heard and read up on fertilaid, I might order some for DH too if this month doesn't pan out. :dust:

You should have DH go ahead and start the maca now because it takes 3 months for it to impact sperm. I actually take maca myself b/c it does all kinds of good things besides boost fertility, like extra energy and increased libido :)

You should also look into CoQ10/Ubiquinol and high amounts of Vitamin C for DH (can't remember what the recommended amount is for male fertility but you can google it). Also, those fertily-based multivitamins would be good too. My DH's SA was low on all counts so we've done a lot of research on how to improve sperm quality.

AFM, this is cycle #4 TTC our first. I'm 3dpo and now trying to pass the time! Baby dust to all!!

:dust:

CD28, 6dpo. Spotting started today, looks like AF is right on time. Another failed month in the books. Totally crushed. Ready to give up trying naturally and look at setting an appointment with the infertility specialist. Between my late O and his lazy sperm, it's just a recipe for more failed months. :sad2:

Feeling a bit perplexed but still trying not to get my hopes up. Had bright pink/red spotting on 6dpo for a few hours and then it stopped. Now on 8dpo and my CM is creamy/lotion-y (sorry! TMI!) but no real hints that AF is on her way aside from being cranky and sore BB's. My last cycle was similar though. If I O'd it wasn't until cd22/23 like this month then I spotted on cd30 after a BM, but it quit after that. Didn't properly start to bleed until cd33, and by then I was 5 days late from what had been usual for me. Giving it a few more days to see if the witch makes her ugly appearance this month.

It could be IB! Have you tested? It takes 2-4 days after implantation to get a positive HPT.

Don't feel crushed Hun. Ttc does take time even when everything is perfect. Your symptoms sound pretty promising though!

10dpo today, tested with fmu and got a negative. According to my one period tracker app, I'm now 3 days late (it's set for my usual 28 day cycle that I had for ages), fertility friend has me down for AF to hit today since last month went all wonky and I was 3 or 4 days late when it hit then. Still nothing as far as that goes though. Continuing to wait and see how this plays out. Temps are still up, so at least I have that going for me.

Cd33 11dpo, and the saga continues. Another :bfn: this morning with just a tiny amount of brown spotting. At this point I think I'm out. I just think my cycle is screwed up now from the HSG. Just waiting for the :witch: to make her appearance so I can get on with another cycle. This is the most frustrating TWW I've had in a long time.

Im sorry. I know it's so frustrating especially when you're doing everything right.

How long is your typical luteal phase? Spotting at 6dpo could easily be implantation spotting, or a sign of low progesterone? Also, 11dpo is still a very early test date. I didn't get my last bfp until 12 and I tested on 10 and 11 dpo...Some gals don't get them until after missed aF

Ltweety : I only have a 9 to maybe 11 day luteal phase (due to an lp defect I'm guessing) which doesn't bode well when coupled with DH's lazy sperm.

The :witch: arrived late this morning in all her glory. So I'm officially out this month. *sigh* :nope:

Onto adding 750mg of gelantized Maca and swapping my prenatal for Geritol in my handful of pills and supplements I'm already downing every day in hopes of a :bfp:

Going to get DH the Fetilaid/Motility Boost combo pack on Amazon to hopefully give his :spermy: 's a kick in the pants before we dive into the world of assisted fertility.... I'm just not ready to give up trying naturally yet.

Try Life Flo Pregestacare--you can buy it on amazon. My naturopath prescribed to it me and it increased my luteal phase by a couple of days. you might also add B6 and extra vitamin C which are said to help with this.

I bought super B complex today, and have been taking 1500mg of extra vitamin C lately (mainly due to working with so many people who keep getting sick). I want to try a progesterone cream, but I'm nervous to as in 2013, I had to be put on provera to kick start a cycle and I ended up with severe leg cramps from it, I could hardly walk. When I called my NP & let her know of the side-effect, she told me to immediately stop taking it and switched me to a different progesterone pill to induce my cycle.

the cream isn't as invasive. It's low dose--1/4 tsp twice a day and you only absorb so much. I still get my AF while I'm taking it and only take it from ovulation to AF. I don't start until my temps have confirmed it either. 3dpo to 14dpo usually. I haven't noticed any side effects other than a slightly longer LP...but everyone is different. I know some gals who take it because they regularly spot during LP and wanted to stop it...and it worked.

That's really good to know! Thanks for the info!:flower:
