dates wrong??

had my first scan this morning which should have been 10+3 but bean only measuring 8+6? LMP was 28th dec. have i my dates wrong??

It depends on when u ovulated/implanted and how long your cycles are. I was a week off as well after my first scan. My EDD went from Sept 18 to Sept 26. I would go by the scan.

Sometimes babies measure a week behind but then catch up over the next couple of weeks. You lmp is just an estimate as it doesnt tell exactly how far along you are as it depends on ovulation and implantation. You could have ovulated later than you thought even just by a couple days and then implanted later. They just go by lmp to get an estimate before you have a dating scan.

Every woman has different length cycles, and babies take anywhere from 6-12 days to implant. Using LMP they have to take an average of everyone, then use a scan to adjust it according to yours and babies specific timings.

Did they say everything else on the scan looked okay? Like heartbeat etc?
