Ok so Im not really sure whats going on with me but basically i think im pregnant possibly, i have been having pregnancy symptoms since June and they have changed but havent really stopped in fact, the other night i had a painless contraction along the bottom of my belly about 3 times! along with these symptoms i have been bleeding around the time my cycle should have come but the bleeds have been ifferent than my normal cycle! the first month it was almost normal except it started and stopped twice and i saw small clots, the second month it was very light bleeding and spotting 9 days earlier than expected, and finally this month theres nothing at all! i have yet to get a bfp but i read that this is common with decidual bleeding, has anyone experienced anything like this? were u pregnant? if not what did it turn out to be? if so, id you go on to deliver a healthy baby? thanx for any help you can give me!

You've posted this in second tri love, post in TTC.

i am aware of that i did that on purpose, because its commonly a first trimester issue so anyone in their second trimester has experienced this it woul be fresh in their mind, and they would also have an answer where someone in their first trimester may still be trying to figure out whats going on!

It's quite common to get spotting and bleeding in pregnancy, especially in 1st trimester. But you would be very unlikely to not get a positive pregnancy test if you are in fact pregnant. Sometimes the at-home tests aren't as sensitive after about 10-12 weeks because you are almost too pregnant for them to give you an accurate reading. But if you've tested before that and still not gotten a positive test, I would say it's quite possibly something else weird that's going on with you. See your doctor. There's no way to guess you're pregnant just from some bleeding (as that can happen whether you're pregnant or not) and bleeding shouldn't affect your ability to get an accurate result on a test. I had heavy bleeding in 1st tri and I got a very strong positive test from even before I would have missed my first period way back in June. Definitely see a doctor because if you are pregnant, you need to have things checked out to know you and baby are healthy, and if you aren't, there could be other things going on, like ovarian cysts or PID. Good luck! Hope you figure out what's going on.

I dont think your pregnant if you have had negative tests and bleeding around the time AF would be due for 2 months on the trot. What you are describing is hormonal symptoms and they can be caused by a number of things, pregnancy being only 1 of them. I think sometimes we want to be pregnant and let ourselves think thats why we are having symptoms, and I think this is the case here. I think you should go and see your doctor because there may be something causing you to have these hormonal symptoms. Hope this helps x

Actually I wasnt trying to get pregnant in fact i was working on my career and had no intention of getting pregnant for atleast another 2-3 years, so your wrong in thinking i just want to be pregnant! however i do agree that it maybe a hormonal imbalance or something in that neighborhood! the part that confuses me is that i started getting these symptoms, quite severely, after the one time we had unprotected sex! so much so that i lost my job because i couldnt perform due to the dizziness, headaches and lethargy! when i went to the ER the found nothing! i dont believe a pregnancy test was one tho because i was bleeding at that time and kind dismissed the possibility at the time.

i read with decidual bleeding you may not get a positive until bleeding completely stops....however im wondering if i was
pregnant and unknowingly miscarried, causing my hormones to be knocked outta whack? ikd, but thanks for you response!

Nope that's not true. Some women do get bleeding every month around the time they would have had their periods even though they're pregnant because it's just the hormones being a little wacky. But it won't affect whether or not you'd get an accurate test result, or else at least half of us wouldn't have gotten positives on HPT. Certainly, a miscarriage if you had one (however, usually that's something you can't miss, as you would have eventually had very heavy, painful bleeding) could cause your hormones to be off for a few weeks, but they usually settle down eventually rather than going on and on for months. From what you're saying, it sounds like you've been not feeling well for awhile, so it's worth investigating with your doctor. Some women do have really debilitating pregnancy symptoms in first trimester, but they are rarely the kind that would cause you to leave your job. That sounds like maybe something more serious. Hope that helps! And hope you figure it all out and start feeling better soon!

What's with all the phantom pregnancy threads today??? It must be something in the air!

And yes I had bleeding twice so far in my pregnancy, but still had positive hpts at 3.5 weeks.

You need to go to the doctor.

:flower:

Amen, sistah.

Surely if this has been going on since June, you'd be practically halfway through the pregnancy, if you were indeed pregnant. What would compell you to NOT see a doctor before now, if you truly believed you were pregnant? A trip to the ER does not really count...we have stories all over these forums that suggest that many ER staff are sort of lost obstetrically.

Don't think you're pregnant, but maybe the doctor can do a scan just to make sure something else isn't going on, or to find out why you're feeling unwell. HTH

Was just thinking the same thing...very strange :haha:

I also had bleeding for 4 weeks early in this pregnancy, but my HPTs were always positive through it. Ultrasound at 6 weeks showed a baby with a heartbeat.
