I have a question about deli meats and I'll state what I know....
I know that deli meats can carry a bacteria called Listeria. Which can cause Listeriosis. Which has very bad effects on mom, and baby. It can cause problems with the pregnancy, miscarriage, still born, or defects on LO.
Another thing I know is, if you heat deli meats until steaming hot, it kills the bacteria Listeria.
What I want to know is, if I were to heat salami until steaming hot, is it safe to let it cool to room temperature? Like, can Listeria come back?
Sorry if this is silly, I just really need to know because I am craving a salami sandwich so badly.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
