Hello All,
I am new to this website as well as being a mother. I recently found out I was pregnant. A week later I begin to bleed and the bloods is bright red and some clots. I'm also having mild cramping. I ended up goin to the emergency room and after 10 long hours (blood work, pelvic exam, ultra sound, and transvaginal ultrasound), the PA tells me that I have a miscarriage in progress. He said that the location of the sac increased my chances of having a miscarriage. I was devastated I automatically assumed that it wouldn't be long before I had a complete miscarriage. Well as soon as I got home I began searching the internet and I found out that a threatening miscarriage doesn't necessarily mean that I will have a miscarriage. So I saw my ob/gyn today and whoa was this a breath a fresh air. She confirmed that I hadn't had a miscarriage and my cervix is still closed which is all positive news. So we still having a chance of having a baby. I will return to my ob/gyn on thursday to do another HCG
Has anyone experienced this diagnosis and if so what should I do as far as taking care of myself and the baby. I know that taking it easy, bed rest and pelvic rest are recommended.
