Did anyone choose to exclusively bottle feed from birth?

I didn't choose to formula feed. I was induced at 37 weeks due to gestational diabetes and other complications. It was 42 long hours after being induced that Thomas was born and I had a really difficult time. Because of the diabetes LO had low blood sugars when he was born and needed feeding almost immediately. I was in no fit state to feed him so my mum had to give him a bottle of formula. I was then told I wasn't allowed to breast feed because he had a bottle of formula. I have since found out I could of breast fed all along!!
