Bottle feed last time but successfully breastfeed second time??

I gave up on breastfeeding after about 5 days with my first born as just felt like he wasn't getting anything but I really regretted it and it affected me so much - i think had i perservered all would have worked out ok. This time i am really determined to breastfeed - i want it more than anything.

Just wondered if there was anyone who didnt manage it with a first child but then with second has done so fine???

Also a thing that worried me is that someone told me that if you didnt breastfeed first time round then you dont get much milk in second time round??? is this true???

Me, I gave up bf my first after about 4 days as the whole new baby thing was enough of a change for me, I couldn't keep up with the whole breastfeeding thing, was getting all stressed out...

This time, I'm breastfeeding and it is going brilliantly, to the point where I feel guilty for my first daughter, but hey she's a perfectly healthy wee girl....

and its totally false that you don't make as much milk, I'm an E cup full of milk (from a normal B cup) with a baby who gained her birth weight back in a week xx

I've bf both my boys, but my friend gave up very early with her first two girls then bf her 3rd girl for a whole year - no problems with milk!!

Also, the amount of milk you produce is not related to breast size, the most important thing is to feed on demand.

However, some babies are sleepy in the early days, so make sure you are feeding at least 8-12 times in 24 hrs for the first few weeks - wake your baby if need be - as this will ensure a good milk supply is established from the outset.
