As title says really, we've started to try and wean LO (although I must admit I feel very lost by it all) and since doing this she has stopped sleep through the night and been waking at really random times. 2am, 5am, then throwing up her bottle...(but shes not poorly)

Im feeding the puree packets of like apples/bananas etc by Ella's Kitchen? or the little jars? But to be honest she has a couple of mouthfuls and then we chuck most of it away. (shes 20 weeks, cant sit on her own, but is v interested in our food and very disinterested in her own bottles atm)

I think I want to be pureeing my own veg and fruit really and sticking it in ice cube trays? Is this the way forward?

BUT to be honest I dont know if the whole weaning thing is distrupting her sleep too much too soon  she doesnt seem to mind it. We started her on baby rice and she hated that, but doesnt seem to mind the pureed stuff and give her it at tea time (should I do this at morning time?) Still feel confused with all this blw and tlw stuff :(

 lost.

HV is coming Monday for a chat and to weigh LO so maybe she can advise but its always nice for experiences

It did for us, our doctor wanted me to mix some rice in with milk since I couldnt get her to drink more than 30-32oz in a bottle and she wasn't gaining well. That was at 17 weeks- it upset her tummy I think and she was up all hours. Up until then she was STTN! We stopped at 18 or 19 weeks.

We waited until 21 weeks to start back and its been great. She has also put on loads of weight, although I have not done rice again yet. It could also be the sleep regression though... =/

LO started waking up in the night around the time we started weaning (at 24 weeks), TBH we really don't know exactly why he's waking as he's also gained two teeth since weaning started. A lot of the time though he does seem to be suffering with trapped wind which we are wondering if could be related to the weaning. I was giving him porridge with his mid-morning bottle and then pureed veg/fruit with his teatime bottle. I stopped giving him his teatime food for a few days and he was much better at night for a couple of nights but then went back to waking again. HV advised moving his meals earlier so he now has porridge first thing and food at lunchtime but it hasn't made any difference to his waking or trapped wind. Therefore I can't really be sure whether it's all related!!

thanks for your replies girlies,

I halted the weaning to see if it was that and she slept fine again, so Im going to puree a load of things this week from fresh, Ive invested in a good book & am going to try moving her meals to lunchtimes.

She hates baby rice, so Ive not given her anymore of that but doesnt seem to mind purees.

xx
