We try everything to get her to burp! Over the shoulder, scrunching legs into body, over my leg, sitting and rocking, laying down and picking back up. How do you get your baby to burp?????

Sitting her up and rubbing her back in a circle worked for us sometimes. I'd never thought of it, but someone else did it to her and she burped! Sometimes it just takes ages, though. Does your girl seem uncomfortable? Because if not, it may just come up on it's own later :)

Over the shoulder. Mind you, these days, she belches the second she's done eating, no time to throw her over my shoulder sometimes. :haha: I wouldn't be too concerned, our LO didn't burp after every feed when she was younger. I agree with robinator- if she doesn't seem uncomfortable, it's okay for her not to burp or do it later.

Ugh it used to take forever for Thorrin to burp!!! We did a combo of everything each time. Mostly baby sit ups and patting the back worked. Around three months or four months he got a lot easier to burp.

Have you tried sitting her on your knee and moving her around in a circle whilst her bum is still firmly on your knee? I hope that makes sense.

My cousins LO struggles to bring up her wind so they do this and it's really helped!

Xx

Does she need to burp? Some babies just don't.

With my first, it worked to sit her on my knee (supporting her head with my fingers up her back and neck) and slightly lift her under the arms and then sit her back down several times. Vibrating chairs worked with both of my kids too.

Thanks everyone! Sometimes she does seen uncomfortable and other time she doesn't. She spits up a lot and I hate putting her down to bed without a burp becaus I'm scared of her spitting up in her sleep. She almost always has a burp they are jut hard to get out. Like if I don't burp her while breastfeeding she will spit up right into my lap!

We sit her on our legs and rotate her in a figure 8 along wih all the orher tricks. It gets frustrating at 3am or when I'm alone and her brother needs me too.

Ahhh. They are both starting to cry right now!

I just sit him on my lap, support his head with my hand under his chin and pat his pack. If that doesn't work then I put him over my shoulder and pat his back. Then on the rare occasion they don't work then I put him in the colic hold and pat his back. xx

Lay baby across your arm on his tummy so their head is at the elbow and the heel of your hand is pressing into his tummy (gently ofc). The pressure on his tummy with his back being rubbed/patted helps bring wind up and makes them more comfy if their wind is annoying them :flower:

Are you sure she needs to burp? I have put her to my shoulder and patter her back. I've also laid her over my lap or across my chest if I was laying down (laying in bed after nursing). The other thing I do is hold her upright, particularly if "burping" her isn't working. Sometimes she doesn't need to burp and sometimes "burping" her doesn't work. When burping doesn't work, holding her up or laying her on her belly can be a good way to let it naturally work its way out. Don't kill yourself over it. Try for a few minutes and call it good. If you think there might be a burp in there, just position your baby for burping but don't worry about actively burping the baby.

Ah, so your baby does need to burp... Keep trying the tricks and just remember that it won't last forever. It should get easier in another month or two.

TIP - to be sure LO needs burping, when they're relaxed have a gentle squeeze of their tummy... if it's soft and squidgy they're fine, if it's hard/tense then they need burping :) xx
