Finally Lissy is feeding better, taking 5-6oz no problem, but nope not today :nope:, she decided to wake at 5am for a 5oz bottle then her normal feeds shes taken 4oz at 8am 3oz at 11am and 2pm. Is she just not hungry ? do babies have these days ? Has the 5oz at 5am thrown her off as she normally sleeps until 730 then bottle at 8.. ahhhh wheres the baby manual ? :baby:

My son used to have hungry and non hungry days - tbh he still does and he is 4

ah thats good then.. i always assumed babies were greedy lil things lol

Id say they can have them just the same as we do. thats not experince though but what i would imagine to be the case.

Hi hun, YES! my lo can have an 8oz then a 4oz then a 6oz! he had a good few days of 7oz bottles then he drops to 5oz i just think they are like us some days we are starving and some days not so hungry! Its easy to think 'is there something wrong?' but i just go with the flow and let Jack have what he wants, we all have 'off' days xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It depends on what they've been doing, if you've been out, if they're having a growth day, a sleepy day, if they sleep well that night, if they are understimulated, overstimulated.....arghhhhh too many variables. Luckily Earl inhales his milk, but as I make up 6x7oz bottles I count up at the end of the day what's left and it's not unusual for there to be 12 ounces thrown down the sink! Some nights there's nothing but dregs.

I hope so, Friday LO only had 17oz, and I was flapping, howeer he had 31 on Sat and totally made up for it lol, I thought he was gonna burst!

I hope they have non hungry days too! Evie's really been strange with her milk lately and it's really bothering me.
About a month ago she went from taking 30+oz per day to around 25oz. It wasnt that she'd dropped a night feed or anything as she'd been sleeping thru the night for weeks. It seemed to coincide with her 2nd lot of jabs so I dont know if that has anything to do with it, altho the HV has said it shouldnt affect her appetite for that long and that because she's still gaining weight in her usual percentile (between 75 and 91) she's probably just evened out her feeding instead of being greedy.
Well today it's got worse! She seems to be going for an earlier bed time... the last few evenings she's asleep by 8pm instead of 9-9.30pm so of course that means her last feed is usually around 7pm, so it's another feed dropped :( She's barely had 22oz today :( I just hope she makes up for it tomorrow!
