Do HCG levels really start doubling slower after they reach 6000+?

Boy am I tired of reading conflicting information. Everywhere on the Internet and in books says HCG doubles every 2 days early on, then takes up to 3 as it proggresses and once you get to 6000+, can take over four days to double. They did my bloodwork Thursday night in the ER. (went for brief spotting. it stopped. U/S measured 6 weeks and showed 100bpm heartbeat) It was 22302 around 10pm. About 82 hours later (this morning following up per ER dr's request) HCG was 41095. I was worried. ER nurse said "you're good" and stranger things have happened. Internet and support groups back this up saying doubling rate slows way down. When I call to update my midwife's office, their nurse says no, that's too low and they still want to see 66% rise over every 48 hours. Gah which is it?!

I would go with all the information on the Internet which says after 1200 it can take 3-4 days to double and over 6000 4-5 days! Try putting your stats in a hcg calculator if you haven't already and see what it says xx

Try not to worry hun. We don't have anything here like that, you don't get hcg levels checked routinely x
