Strange question to ask I know but my husband just informed me that I will poo myself when I am pushing... because his EX DID!!!!! Im pretty sure that not all women poo themselves, my Mum had 2 babies and didnt and my sister didnt...

I knew it was a possibility but for him to say that I WILL DO IT has totally pisse me off..

Sorry for the rant ladies, he boils my blood sometimes! x

I have had 3 babie's and never taken a dump whilst pushing!

I bloody knew it! his ex had been in labour for 14hrs and had an epidural so couldnt feel exactly what she was pushing out, I hate his guts sometimes!!! x

I did but, only a tiny bit and i'm the only one out of many people i know that have had babies that did..

OOOOOOOOOO i would be so mad if my DH mentioned anything his ex did during labour!!! ha ha, Men eh... know just what to say dont they!!!

haha, everyone is different. I honestly don't know how common it is, only that it hasn't happenned to me, or my friends, unless they are keeping that part of their birth story to themselves lol

A lot of women get a strong urge to empty their bowels when they are in labour, and have often done so long before they start to push I would imagine.
Try not to worry too much anyways, I doubt you would care (at the time at least!) if you did, believe me!

I didn't, but he came out on the 3rd push.

I dont even want him in the room when I give birth the way I feel today, the sight of him irritates my very core tonight!!!

Tell him if he mentions her again you are going to poo all over him on purpose. Some people do, I didn't but I was scared of it. Appar your body tries to get rid of anything pre labour so you probs won't but sometimes people do. Xx

Some women do and they never know they did as MW just gets rid of it quickly and does not say anything.

So on that note im not sure if i did or not!
I was on my own in labour (well 2 MW one down there and one holding my hand) so i didnt have Karl or my sister sayin SHAAAAAAAAME U DOO DOOED! pmsl

I have had 3 and never once empty my bowels while pushing. I always felt the urge hours before hand and did then.

To be honest I knew when I got with my DH that he had kids with another woman. He knew I also had kids. So we discuss with each other our experiences. He with his ex and me with mine about the labour experience. This helps us both to know what we can expect from the other when it happens. We also discuss with each other our experiences during the pregnancy times. He telling me how he supported his ex and how he repsonded to her moods and such and me with how I experiences it and how I was treated. We never get angry with either talking about their experiences. We see no reasons why we should. We both knew each other had a past and we accepted them with it. Sorry, no insult intended. Just confused as to why this would be so upseting a topic for some to discuss with their DH's.

Actually reading that back it sounds like I'm saying I've never done a poo at all. I'll blame that on my mass bloating

I had an epidural and was pushing for 2 hours. The midwife was telling me to push as if I was doing a poo.. So I did, and I didnt Poo lol. Explain to your partner that your labour will be completly different to his ex's as all womens are. Men ayee?

we were told at antenatal class that approx 80% of women do, however many don't know they have done it because the midwife cleans it away without saying anything :)

Crikey, well in that case, maybe I have!

My first baby.. Well i have no idea if i did or not.. Second.. yes I think I did.. Third.. Yep, fourth.. Nope not even a little bit! (1 out of 4s not bad  )
To be honest i have to echo what others have said which is that the midwives whip it away without you even knowing really and that at least in my experience it has only been a very small amount indeed..
Have always had the 'clearouts' before labour anyway but it's really nothing to be worried about.
Hell, for all we know, it could be a ten year old piece of poop thats been stuck up there for god knows how long and it takes all that extra pushing effort to bring it out

Only reason I know I never is cause OH was down there the whole time.. But tmi... I was constipated through my whole preg which could have had something to do with it

some do, some don't. I didn't and I did make a point of asking  i had clearouts for a few days too though.
