Do 'Working From Home Ideas' work?

Just wondering because I'm looking at some of the 'business' online' but they all just look not tacky but a scam!?

Just thinking about it even if I go back to work part time or if the working from home works hopefully I can live off that income..

If they do what have you been interested in?

If you are part of one, what does your working from home idea include?

Success stories please :)

I work from home with my little one for a company called forever Living and it has just started working for me and this is my 3rd month of it, you get 30% profit on every item you sell plus at the end of the month they give you money back again it starts at 5% back on retail prices for all items you buy (which even includes items you buy for yourself at wholesale price) I didnt quite understand this bit at first but they offer great training which helps you get started and even if you only sell £5 in your first month you get your 5% bonus. (i know that doesnt make a lot but you will sell more than £5, I sold £130 in one sale in first month and I had no experience in selling at all!)

For me this has been a great idea, it obviously doesnt make you a fortune overnight but its great for extra income that has rose each month so far and does seem to get you to a proper income eventually. How quickly depends on how much time you put in. I only do 2 days with my child around as well as I want something that works around him. But i hope to do it full time when he starts nursery to earn a decent income. There a website you can view to look at it in more details which contains number to call for a chat to someone regarding it in your area. The website is www.workaloejovera.myforever.biz.

If you interested they will prob help answer any questions or message me as I obviously still new to this business so know most questions that I asked before started up.

What is it that you sell?

What is it that you sell?

Forever Living Products which are Aloe vera and Bee Propolis products, 100% aloe vera in all products, 100% natural, vegan friendly Kosher friendly animal friendly. It contains health drinks, skin and personal care products such as toothpaste and deodorant, make up, diet products, supplements, animal care products and cleaning products.

I use most myself to as I actually like them and find you cant recommend items you don't use yourself.

I was dubious at first but I like the products and that has really helped me to be able to sell them.

I just don't want to feel like I'm wasting money or being hit with hidden charges like I did with Avon when I was about 18 due to not getting deadlines done etc :\

Thats what I was worried about but Forever Living are really up front about the charges they have. They recommend you start by buying a forever business pack which has two of all the top sellers, so you can use 1 and sell the other and gives you the start up products you need for hosting parties and the (2cc) its there language for promotions which gets you started at Assistant Supervisor level and gets you 30% discount on any products you buy or 30% bonus on any you sell plus a 5% bonus back at the end of every month on all products bought and sold (my first 5% bonus was £10 but its a start)

After that the only charges are still very open and thats £10/month (until you cancel) to have the standard web page the design for you plus all online training stuff and then any other training you chose to have varies in price from £5 fast track to max of £28 for the big guns presentations which if you hold out on at first you get to hear about anyway.

Its very reasonable for things like that which is why i went for it as I looked at Avon but was warned of loads of hidden costs. Forever Living were really clear of charges before I signed any paperwork and agreed to join, plus they let me see what they were talking about at a Business Presentation they hold on a Monday where i got to see and try the products for free and speak to others witihin the business and see what they thought, plus what others thinking of joining were thinking. That was what persuaded me in the end. Especially as they free to attend and you can go as many times as you want for free. (I've been 4 times now - twice before I agreed to join as I wanted to make sure they were didnt disappear)

I'm glad someone showed it to me though as I really am loving it and cant wait to keep earning with it. If you interested in it I can get you to a business presentation near you easy enough so you can see for yourself.

No problems, I hope you find the good in it as I did. If not I hope you find the job that suits you best and you get the time you are looking for with your little one.

Been thinking about it and hopefully when peanut is here I want to go to as many mum and baby groups. Swimming etc so I'd get to know a lot of new mums and thinking I enjoy doing doodles and design even though I'm not the greatest of artists or designers but thinking about making my own cards. At first starting it as a hobby and gaining practice and then using them to give to people for Birthdays, New Home/Baby, Christmas ect so it's a hobby at the beginning but then thinking of doing a few to sell?

Then at the M&B groups and the new mums I meet could have them buy some etc mini home parties? Also I've got a lot of School/nursery Fairs in my area so could sell them there and give half the money to the school etc?

Cool, I'd love to see the designs of the cards when you do them. I basically do the same thing at M&B groups but with the Aloe Products and some of the bits I do myself to, like kids clothes and Towel holders.

I hope it works for you I think it will as you seem to be studying it alot before you decide. Good Luck!

I joined Scentsy when it launched here in April this year and I love it!!
I am now team leader of the second largest team in Europe,we have grown as a company six times faster than they did in the US at this stage .

I am by far having the best success out of any company I have joined and this for me is the one I am sticking with.
The company ethics are fab,met the CEO and President(husband and wife duo) at our first convention last month and they are wonderful people who want to be very hands on and accessible at all times.

I am currently very busy all the way up to Christmas, mad busy some days but I wouldn't trade it no way :)

Whats it doing? Are there loads of fees involved to start it? I interested, as I always looking for more ideas.

Hi March mummy,
We sell wick free candles, that is handmade ceramic warmers with wax bars in 80 scents that smell gorgeous,on par with Yankee wax.I am having a lot of Yankee customers now buying plus 3 Yankee fans joined the business themselves.

Its £85 for the kit and that includes a full size warmer(we sell full size and mid size) a Buddy(which are plush soft animals with a zippered back to which you put in a scent pak),80 testers, books, marketing tools etc plus 2 bars of the wax .
Free website for 3 months and then £10 a month thereafter.
The website is optional but essential if you plan to teambuild(great idea right now!) and there is also an online store for our customers .
They can buy off there plus they can put a party up there and friends who couldn't make it on the night for example can just go on there and add to the party order.

You don't have to do traditional home parties if you don't want to,basket parties are really taking off.Same idea but you give to host for a week ,they take to work etc, neighbours and collect the orders. They get the same rewards etc

We are just at 300 consultants now in UK so room for loads of growth.
They also are expanding(I can't post on public forums yet about it)in 2 weeks :)

I have promoted up 3 levels since starting and am aiming to reach Director by Christmas the rate I am going.

The products are brilliant and once people are smelling them, seeing them and have them in their homes its getting referrals ongoing.

I should add that is all fees there is,upfront.
We can choose to add the new scent testers they may bring out once a year only and get those at reduced cost.

Also no minimum targets to meet(unless you decide to teambuild and then its £150 every 3 months).

Cool it sounds pretty similar to Forever Living only with candles rather than Aloe vera products, oh and you get a certain amount to sell in 3 months, which isnt bad actually. They want 4cc recommended with Forever which is about 540 a month but you dont have to reach the target to get bonuses etc it just helps apparently as it the amount they show the figures for in sales. I will definitely look into the Scentsy though as an extra.

Can you advertise the products on your own site to or does it have to be through them?

Yes we have optional targets you can aim for and combine a mixture of sales and team building but flexible so they are attainable for people who show talent for one more than other.

You can have an external website but must have re-direct button to your corporate site.
I am in process of setting up one (busy working on blog right now and helping new team members ),so much scope and they are happy for people to run another sales company alongside apart from conflicting companies obviously .

If you want to look at the website let me know, don't think I can post links on here :)

I've googled it to have a look its defiantly worth trying alongside forever as I think they would link together quite well and the more advertising you get for one the more you get for the other to. I'm defiantly going to think about it and don't worry working for forever I know how it works so if I do decide to join I will defiantly get your info first so you get your bit from it.

I love Working from home so much I am looking at joining another company I must be mad, more work. I guess as I already doing the work all I doing is mentioning another product really and getting more income in from it!

It is very profitable and addictive isn't it :)
I love being in control and as it grows creating more income and in turn freedom.
It is all going in the right direction and growing at the right rate for me.
I also agree about advertising for one in turn can highlight your other as people get to know 'you'.
All about branding yourself :)I have a lady on my team work Jamie at Home alongside Scentsy and both complement the other ,though she is now getting very busy lol
