When my brother was born, I was 11, so I remember a lot about when he was little. I watched my dad and stepmum putting sudocrem on his bum with every nappy change, so I thought that was what you had to do. I bought a massive tub of it, as well as a smaller tub for the changing bag, and then we were given a mini pot. I actually laughed when I saw the size of the mini pot and said we would be lucky for it to last a week.
When LO was born they said only to use it if there was a rash, and only to use a little amount. My parents would slather it on, but I have been told that if your baby has nappy rash, and you slather it on, you only have to use baby wipes to clean her bum in the next change, and the rubbing of the baby wipes is enough to irritate her rash again, so you should use as little as possible, and only on the affected areas, not the entire bum.
I think I've used sudocrem on her bum about 5 times in the past 3 months; there's no way I'm going to get through the little pot, let alone the massive one! Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to use sudocrem in every day life? I spent about £10 on it; I need to use it somewhere!
