Do you BD every day or every other day?

So I'm pretty confused. My last Clomid day is tomorrow, and in about a week I should be ovulating. My fertility specialist told me to have sex 5 days in a row during my fertile period. I was just talking to a friend who sees a different fertility specialist and she said that she was told to only have sex every other day or every 3 days to let the sperm have a chance to replenish!


What should I do?? What do you do?

The choice to have sex every day or every other day actually comes gown to the guys swimmers. If he has normal quality and quantity then you have an increased chance of getting pregnant by following what your RE said. If your partner has a low count then some REs recommended to go every other day.

DH has normal counts, but we tend to fall into a bed two days in a row, take one day off pattern unless I get my + opk. I would do what your RE suggested. That way if you don't fall pregnant you won't be blaming yourself. You and your doctor will be on the same page for deciding your next step.

Last month we would BD every day most of the time, sometimes up to 3 times in a day. Neither of us know what his sperm count is so we're trying an every other day approach this cycle.

That makes a lot of sense, I didn't think about sperm count! My DH has normal sperm count (I'm assuming since he's gotten me pregnant 5 times) and my friends husband has low sperm count. We will be BD'ing every day from CD12-17! Thanks!

I've been pregnant twice with no issues but this is a new partner so it's our first time TTC with each other. I think because he was using his supplies so often (can't keep our hands off each other ) we weren't giving sperm time to replenish. That's our logic anyways. Good luck!

Honestly my vagina would hurt and possibly go numb! If I bd that often......but ..... I have read bd everyday the male has lower sperm count. But 9yrs ago when I got pregnant with ds his father and I were bd like crazy we were sex crazed teenagers!! Bd like oh 2-3 times every day. And I got pregnant I simply dont have the drive to do that anymore .... So I think every other day is good ..... My sis however she bd everyday and got pg after 4 months.....of actively trying ..... Before that she NTNP for 8 months .... So I personally think more is better plus ur Dr knows best.

I think if your husbands sperm count is normal its whatever you are most comfortable with and what is less stressful. My DH & I recently DTD 4 days in a row which I think is a record since we got married in April lol By the time we did it the 4th time we barely had anything left, he didn't "produce" very much that time around and felt more like work than pleasure for both of us so it just depends on what works best for you both. No more 4 days in a row for us, I wish we both had the stamina for 2-3x a day but thats just not for us. I think we're skipping tonight and maybe trying against tomorrow night. Then rest for a while. That's why we do two days then one day break. He has good counts but every day would tire me out, especially since I have ovulated anywhere from cd13-20. That is a lot of nookie.

Supposedly the thing about letting sperm count replenish is a myth, but who knows really!
We BD every other day, as my OH doesn't have the highest sex drive ever so even every other day is a stretch for him

Is it expensive to get a sperm count, idk where we would go or what test to ask for? I think it would be good to know what we are up against. Then again if its not good news I don't want to stress out about it, b/c there prob not much we could do about it. I've also heard that every other day works better for the sperm count to build back up, idk if thats true but I do know if we do it every other day its more romantic for us & just feels like less work & more pleasure. I guess those days off are hard to wait thru haha
