Do you condition your toddler's hair?

I use Naked 2-in-1 stuff for kids but DS's hair still isn't getting soft, it's been feeling pretty dry! I'm going to do some shopping around and trying out :)

Congratulations again on little one :) I bet she is a cutie! If she doesn't have cradle cap I would just use water. I think most shampoos are pretty drying and I only use conditioner as my son's afro is out of control otherwise!! :flower:

Thanks :flower: I don't use it on Lily though, lol she gets top-to-toe wash for her hair. I want to use something other than Johnson's on Jason though because his hair has been getting pretty dry lately!

I still get confused with these DD and DS!!! Yeh we used to use johnsons but avoid the stuff now as little one has eczema and it seems to irritate it. My friend uses Asda's Little Angels conditioning shampoo and said that it's good. A lot of people use halo and horns which most supermarkets sell. I put just coconut oil on his hair last night as his skin has flared up so will let you know in the morning if it is a grease ball or nice! It definitely smelt good!! :flower:

I honestly think it's best to go without shampoo...

I'd agree, at least for my kid.

Out of interest, how often do you wash V's hair?

By "wash" do you mean with shampoo or do you mean "scrub in water?" If the former, never. If the latter, I don't really keep track... The important areas (face, hands, bum) get washed so regularly, that a full bath or shower is rarely needed. I did shower with her today which was only a couple days after her last bath. Sometimes it's a week or more before I give her a full bath or shower. Sometimes it's every couple days.

I use pantene on my kids hair for shampoo and my son uses pantene for conditioner. The girls and I all use argan oil (or something like that) for our conditioner.

Out of interest if you dont use shampoo how do you get stuff like food, paint etc... Out of their hair. I know if my lo gets baked beans sauce in her hair for example water wouldent get it out properly

Well, she's never painted, so that takes care of that! But when she does paint, it would be water based paint, anyway, so it should come out. She did get sap in her hair once. I used vegetable oil to get it out. I then washed her hair in water and wiped it with a paper towel. It looked a little oily for a day or two. Baked bean sauce also sounds like something water would take out as it's not oily. Also, as I mentioned, the oil that I put directly into her hair, only made it look a tad oily for a day or two.

LO has very fine curly hair. I use boots baby shampoo at the moment but put a tiny bit of coconut oil on after. Expensive but amazing. She hates having hair washed, brushed, played with so the oil is worth every penny. Hair wash once a week and oil after a wash and usually a few days later to detangle curls again.

I ve noticed that now that it is winter the dry heat may dry the hair too, but I noticed as long as she spends enough time outside it will be moist again. I dont even think there are conditioners for toddlers are there?

Yes, just on lengths and the ends

Thank you. I meant more along the lines of scrubbing in water or rinsing, I know you don't use shampoo. I do pretty much the same, to be honest, I wipe her hair with a wet cloth when needed, otherwise just rinse with water every now and again.
