i do, even though were skints all yr round, takes a lot for me to put a little away each wk to save for love2shop vouchers but i still donate to salvation army at xmas , think last yr it was £23 to ensure homeless/old people got a xmas dinner or just saw someone, we use to have a giving tree in our shopping centre but for some reason wasnt there last yr , even if its ur kids old toys to the charity shop do u donate ?x

it kills me to think anyones on there own at xmas ( i know plenty are )

Awww that is so nice. :flower::flower:

Yes I always do I always buy four extra gifts for the give a gift at Xmas campaign our local radio station does or for boy and girl and one for teenage boy and girl. I always give £10 to the big issue guy as well.

Not at Christmas but I do sign up for a charity every year. This year was a charity for blind children.

i know theres always guna be kids/people/older people without but just 2make sure ive sorta made a tiny difference makes me feel a little better at xmas , wot always gets me is uknow in supermarkets theres always food things for cats/dogs ? y aint there any for homeless etc  i know people can take things down to a charity etc but sometimes theyve not always got time x

I usually buy an extra toy or 2 for the collection they do at my local Asda (might even be a national thing, not sure ) - don't really even notice the extra on the bill, but I'm sure it means a lot to the recipient. Things are very tight this year, but I'm sure I will still manage it if they do it again.

i just think as if my kids wont miss a toy/book/dvd/or like my £20 boots points i will get a 3for2 im sure ,xmas is the time for giving after all , sometimes though it just makes me so sad  feeling it big time at the moment aswell

I do donate money to charities all year round but I am thinking of also doing something (toys/food) this christmas. I will look into it

I don't at any specific time but I do put money in collection boxes when they are outside shops

I donate to childrens charitys throughout the year, Instead of buying cards at christmas i make a donation to charity around the 1st of December.

Yes i give £20 each year to two charities plus on boxing day i take a few big boxes of chocolates to the nursing home near me and sit with some of the residents, most of whom dont see any family over christmas.

Not especially at Christmas though I donate every month through a direct debit to water aid and I quite often buy my dad an Oxfam Unwrapped gift or similar as an add on to his present as he really appreciates them. This year I have emailed about ten different shelters and things about the possibility of volunteering over Christmas.

i give clothes/toys and stuff i dont want to a second hand shop thats for charity, and also give the same stuff to an animal shelter. i dont like giving money, if someone wants milk i would rather give them milk than money.

oh i wud rather donate food/milk/kids toys etc than money xx

We always donate stuff to salvation army during the year and we donate to a homeless shelter around Christmas as well.

I donate to charities all year round, at Christmas I will put a toy or some food into the trolley at my local Tesco, I send food into the school for their Charity hamper and I always have a big clear out at Christmas and donate all toys to charity, some toys have maybe onlt been played with one so they are always in as new condition.

Yes.
My parents have always made a family donation at Christmas to the Salvation Army, and we always donate to Christian Aid. I also do Operation Christmas Child at church, and sometimes donate my time to Birmingham Synod to help collate all the donated gifts they receive. At work, instead of buying cards for each other, we each make a £5 donation to Acorns.

My son attends a charity so any charity money I have it goes to them, it costs them £3,000 a year to provide a place for 1 child, and they have 70 children on the books. It is completely charity based, no government funding. This year we are getting some money from Children in Need!!!

I'll give to the food bank trolley that sits in the foyer of asda for the food bank in south east edinburgh. I'll also buy and put some toys in the trolley for kids toys who don't get when that gets done. Makes me sad to think of others less fortunate, especially at christmas

I do and I think its easy to get carried away with material items at christmas and its great to remember you dont have to pay to get good karma points and help out the less fortunate.

We help charity's all year but things we do every year at Christmas time are:

Shoebox appeal
Help at the school fayre (not a charity but not possible without help. Out of 400 kids in my childrens school only 15 members are on the PTA!!)
buy or donate a cheap christmas tree to a hospice
drop random items into the trolley at tesco for help the heros etc
help make the christmas dinner (week before xmas) at local hospice.

If you dont have money to donate, sometimes time is more valuable x
