Do you experience cramps

Just curious how many women started experience those annoying mild period cramps all over again after they reached 36 weeks. I've heard its common, but not sure what causes them!

Mine started at about 38weeks - think it may have been baby engaging as it wasn't until my 39 week appointment that MW said his head was in.

They're getting worse now too, so I hope it's a sign as my due date is tomorrow!!!

Thank you. My doctor said it was normal yesterday at my appointment. Its happened everyday for the past 4-5 days now. She said he was low, 1cm dilated and 50 percent effaced. Not sure if the cramps are from pressure or cause he was causing some progression

Yes I was having period cramping but from 31 weeks, then it stopped until 35 weeks and now its back a lot stronger, I think its our body getting ready for the big contractions

I started getting them last week, especially when I'm lying in bed at night.

I've had period cramps on and off for the last couple weeks. Been a bit curious about it, but I'll ask my MW about it when I next see her. But I'm sure it's just another on of those lovely pregnancy things.

Oh, I just ignored the twinges because there was nothing else and baby was moving fine. But now that your thread made me think about it, I've been getting those twinges since baby's head engaged at 35+5 ... I'm 36+4 today and its been happening randomly all during the day since last week

Yep I have had them for over three weeks now and according to my dr. completely normal..but for me they haven't done anything, at 36 weeks I was closed completely!! i don't think I am now, but we will see this thursday

Was woken up with a row of 3 quite strong ones coming and going with a minute or two inbetween - thought about waking OH up to time them (!!!) but got up to do it myself but now they've stopped!!!

Dammit - though that was it then!!!

They seem to be worse at night and in the morning when I wake up. They are so annoying!

I've had waves of period pains nothing constant though. It always gets me a bit excited because I think ooo am I not goint to make it to 40 weeks lol. And each time I go loo im on plug watch!x

Ohhh maybe our babies will come on the same day! lol
For some reason 3 people has told me they feel feb. 12th willbe the day, so intrested to see whos right! The cramps are not in my bump area though. Its in that flat spot between my bump and my vagina. is that where yours are?

Yep I just stood up and it shot through all my bum the pain and around my lower belly where you get period pains. It feels a lot like round ligament pain at times!. But it's enough to make me stand there to let it pass before I even think about making my next move!

Aha I just want her out before or on her due date as I know it will send me crazy not knowing when it's going to be!

Sometimes It wakes me up at night from being so uncomfortable. There better be some major progression going on down there, cause thats when It all started happening!! lol
I don't get them too often in my back area, I do sometimes but not nearly as much as my front. I hate the waiting game, and not knowing when hewill be here, or if I'll go over due. My doctor will induce at 39 weeks if I want to, but I really really don't want to be induced at all, but its so tempting! My baby could be here in 2 1/2 weeks if I wanted him too, but I really want natural birth, and I know I couldnt cope with induction!

Ive been getting these since 36 weeks and im due on thursday.
I think my midwife/mum said something about how they may be causing the cervix to soften?
Or maybe its because of the head engaging mine radiate in my back too

This past week aloneI went to 50% effaced, is that cervix softening or something else? She told me friday that it was now very soft and I could be wrong, cause I was taking so much information in but I think she miht have said 3/5th which she would be taking about engaged im sure.
