Someone recently told me that Sophia is a hugely popular name right now ...they mentioned after we told them our middle name. I imagine Sophie would be on the rise too. Love the name.

im a nursery worker and have had 1 sophie in the last 3 years i know of 3 my age tho (19) i love the name!! popular names at my place are lily-may, evie, chloe

I love the name but know 4 babies last summer called Sophie (2), sophia & Sofia. Only 1 was in the uk - I was lving in Switzerland and a lot of people us it coz it crosses language barriers well & works easily across Europe.

We have chosen the name Sophie Alice for if we have a baby girl.
One of my friends friends is called Sophie, and she's in her 20s. She's the only one I know though.

I love the name Sophia/Sophie -- it's in the top 10 lists in the US as well. However, i have worked with kids for the past 15 years & i have never met one single Sophie or Sophia. As a matter of fact, i never even went to school with one myself! Not sure where they're all hiding??

I do know of an elderly woman in her 90's named Sophie --- and there is a show on MTV with a baby named Sophia.

I say go for it!!!!!!!! Beautiful name!

I know of quite alot of Sophies! The youngest Sophie I know is a couple of weeks old and the next is about 18 months, so it's fairly popular around here! xx

I went to school with 9 of them...plus my next door neighbour has that name. It was the 2nd most popular girls name at my school, 1st was Amy.

Most Sophies I know are around my age, 19-21 ish.
I love the name though.
