I had my son not to long ago so remember very clearly what his kicks felt like, they were up at my right side close to my ribs and as space got smaller they were visible and sometimes even sore

this time the only feelings iv got are very low under my belly close to the crotch area, I dont even no if id describe these as kicks more movements as such. Iv not been told baby is breech at this stage but id be extremely surprised if not.

my last appointment was 28 weeks and she didnt check positioning, next one is 34 weeks.

1. Is it fairly normal to feel less/different feeling rather than kicks if baby is breech?

2. At 34 weeks if im still breech is there any issues?

Thanks

I can't say for certain, I can only answer based on my own experience. I'm 34 weeks and baby has been breech the entire pregnancy so far. Pretty much the entire time, her movements have been small and sparse. I worry about it constantly but every appointment I've had, the doctor assures me that she's doing well in there! I guess she's just not a wiggly baby. All of her movements have been down low (around my pelvis) and they still feel just as light and fluttery as they did at 20 weeks when I first felt movement.

As for the breech position, my doctor told me early on that breech wasn't anything to be super concerned with until about 35 weeks. If baby is breech at that point, it is still possible to turn, but that's when the topic of c-section needs to be discussed. In my case, they went ahead and started getting me scheduled for my c-section at my 34 week appointment considering that baby has NEVER been head-down at all. If she was flip-flopping then we wouldn't jump to that conclusion yet but seeing as she has never been in the right position, we're guessing that she just finds it most comfortable with her head up and it's very unlikely that she'll flip.

This is my 3rd baby, and 2nd breech baby. Definitely always felt lots of movement with all my kids. That being said, I tend to have big babies! So that might be part of it. Breech babies feel different in utero. In my experience my bump was super super tight at the top and hard to sit straight up. Hard to explain. But definitely different than a baby head down. If baby is breech, they can attempt an external version (manually turn baby). Which is done in the Operating Room Incase there are any complications. They try to so this before the 38 week mark. Chances are your baby is fine, I understand the worry with baby not moving as much but if you're doctor isn't concerned than I wouldn't be. Big hugs

My first baby was breech and was for along time before birth but wasn't detected def agree with pp that my bump was really tight at the top and a hard bump at the top which was the head. It feels very different this time bump is much lower and top of bump is soft. I probably feel the amount of movements the same.

My DD was breech (but nobody knew until I was in labour). Most of the movements were very low down. This baby is apparently head down and movements all over the place. I carried lower last time too, but she was only small and her bu was wedged in my pelvis.

I have felt movements today, im not overly worried but i certainly dont feel kicks its more like a squirmy feeling. Maybe i just remember what the kicks feel like later on?
