I was wondering whether you take your maternity notes with you, either everywhere you go, or if you go away overnight or out of town?

I remember when I forgot them at my 12 week scan the tech said something along the lines of you should keep them with you.

We're going to visit OH's family for a couple of days, they live about 1.5hrs away by car. I'm only 32 weeks and have no reason to think I'd need to see any medical professionals while we're there, but should I have them with me just in case?

I took them when we went abroad at 15 weeks. What do you do?

I wouldn't bother but if your worried then you could squeeze them in x

They don't take much room so I'd just take them, just incase!xx

I don't take them everywhere only to see mw! But I would if I was going on 1.5 drive an staying there etc can't hurt! X

I don't carry mine everywhere yet. But when we went to the seaside for the week, that was about 1.5 hr drive so I packed them. I figure at home if anything happened there are plenty of people who could nip home and get them for me if needed!

They say on the front that you're too carry them with you at ALL times. I personally would pay attention to it as you never know what's going to happen.

I take mine when I'm going away. I'm just under 32 weeks. I guess from about 38 weeks I'll start to take them everywhere!

I would take them if you are travelling a fair distance from home- just leave them in the car boot or that better safe than sorry. I dont take them everywhere though just if Im going away for a few nights x

Im one of the guilty ones who has never carried them!!! :( But... I am possibly going away for the weekend 4 weeks before due date and WILL be taking them with me, and I am also going to my sister's wedding 2 weeks before I am due and staying awa for the weekend so yes, I will be taking them then too. But if i'm just in town or not gunna be long I never remember to take them... I haven't with any of them and im on my 3rd... Aren't I naughty! x

I leave mine in my car as that is likely to be wherever i am :haha: if it's the weekend and we go out for the day in OH's car I don't bother to take them though. I would if we were going away for a few days or going really far away though. I took them when I was about 22w when we went away for a week 3hrs drive away!

I dont carry them in my purse or anything but i do tend to take them if i go out further than 20 minutes away. I tend to just leave them in the car as that goes where i go.

Yup, keep them with you.
You never know what'll happen
x

I never carry mine but I'm going back to work after summer break in 3 weeks and they'll be oming with me, along with my hospital bag! I'm working until 38 weeks and think at that stage they should be with me. We're also going on a mini break when I'm 35 weeks. It's about 4hrs drive away. I'll bring them then too

I haven't but I have started to this week... well at least I brought them in the house to write a birth plan, they've been sitting on the backseat of my car since my booking in appt :)

mines all in a book and they live in my handbag! midwife said to have it on you at all times.. because if you have to go to hospital for other reasons, other then labour, you still have all your pregnancy info on you.

I'd take them...... I went to visit the inlaws 2.5 hours away and had a UTI/lower abdominal pains (totally unforeseen)...... The staff at hospital where I was seen were really patronising and telling me how it makes everything for more difficult and I should always carry them on me....... Learnt my lesson! lol

If I'm going any distance away from home, say more than a trip into town then I take them with me, we're going to legoland at some point in the next month so I will be taking them especially as I have a history of premature labour. But apart from that they live in my kitchen next to the microwave and if I was to get suddenly rushed in I'd just get someone to get the for me!

Mine live in my work handbag, which means I have them with me all week, but not necessarily at weekends. I've been a couple of hours drive away from home for half a day or so and not taken them, but only when I had DH with me who could give them the information they would need anyway (or I could).

I was glad I did have them with me the day I set off to work quite happily and ended up having to go to the hospital to get checked for bleeding (all ok after being checked) given the hospital is much closer to work than it is to home, and it's the first thing they asked for.
