getting a bit annoyed really, rang my doctors up literally same day i found out i was pregnant but they were too busy,,so i rang them last week and they said they would try to book me an appointment straight with the midwife rather than see a doctor, but they said the earliest i could get an appointment was mid/end july as the midwifes were really busy :O il be around 13 weeks then and havent seen ANYBODY! surely this isnt right? i should of had a scan by the time i see anyone!:growlmad: cant help but constantly worry now,, im in the uk by the way ! anyone else had bad experience trying to get a doctor/midwife appointment?

were in the UK are you hun..... that shouldn't be happening

Aww hun, I know what you mean. Im 11 weeks 3/4 days and I haven't seen a midwife yet either! Im not due to see her until next week for the booking in appointment (when I'll be over 12 weeks) and haven't had any appointments for the first scan yet. I spoke to her today and she said she would be too busy to ring me tomorrow as she has a lot of ante-natal appointments, so to wait until I hear from her!!!!
Im driving myself insane here, how can midwives be too busy to see pregnant mothers?! :(
I feel your pain hun xx

ps. I just looked at my ticker (which is correct) and Im 11 weeks 5 days! :O And still havent seen a midwife yet!

I saw the dr and he sent off for the midwife appointment and the scan together. I would go to the dr as a walk in if they do that service and tell him/her the situation. It would be completely wrong to make you wait later than 12 weeks for a scan!

i'm sorry this is a joke..... any wonder why folk go private

it is starting to become a joke, just because were only in our first trimister its like were not as important, iv got the private number for the midwife so i will try giving her a ring rather than speaking to yet another receptionist! :( hopefully il be seen soon! and you ladies get your scans soon! :hugs:

I would complain, in my booklet I got today it says that most places in the UK give women their booking appointment before 10 weeks as this is the best time to get results of certain blood tests.

I'm in Canada and in my city we can either choose to be with a doctor or midwife. We have a shortage on doctors and there are only three midwife organizations in town. I knew before hand that I wanted to go with a midwife, so when I got my :bfp: at 10 DPO I immediately submited my due date... and I was put on 3 waiting lists! I only just got the call that I'm in with one

I hope you get in to see someone soon! GL!

We may have to pay for our healthcare in the States but at least we get in to see our doctors when we want! What a nightmare!!

id try calling your doctor and seeing if they can at least do your hospital referal or call your hospital and get on the phone to the antenatal dept and explain and they should book you in

i have my booking in appointment next week at 8 weeks 2 days. booked this when i was 4 weeks pregnant. hoping my scan will be right around 12 weeks then. i wouldn't like to have to wait even longer tho!
