Hi Everyone,

I need some advice! My DH and I have been trying for #1 since December 2010. I'm 28, he's 29. I've been using OPKs to make sure our timing is right. Taking prenatals, tried a few other vitamins (maca, vitex, etc), very healthy. I'm even wearing a fertility bracelet By all accounts, I would have thought that we would be pregnant by now!

I know that most people say to wait about a year...well, it's been 10 months, and we're ready to be pregnant! I made an appt with my ob/gyn for Thursday, and I'm not sure what to say/ask. Should I be requesting any certain tests? What if she tells me not to worry (i.e., "You're young, just keep trying naturally...")...what should I say then? I'm bringing my husband with me...will she have him do a sperm analysis? I'm not sure what to expect! Do you think I should ask to be put on Clomid?

I appreciate any advice you can offer! Thank you!!

Michelle

Hi

I was told not to go back after 18 months of trying. They may do 21 day bloods to check ovulation and also sperm test but after 10 months im not so sure, it might be a bit soon.

Hope it goes well for you x

If you are worried then tell them you have been trying for longer. I know it's sneaky but I can't see the point in hanging around especially if you "may" need a little help along the way.

Try not to worry as the first stages are mainly bloodwork and examinations. You're OH might find it a bit scary lol. The look on my OH's face when he went off to do his semen analysis was priceless. Keep smiling. xx

When we went to see the doc the first time we'd been trying for 14 months but we also pointed out that we hadn't been too hot about using protection before hand. I think time seems to be the key factor but whether it's 12 or 18 months seems to depend on the doctor/area.
