Does any once else have irregular periods and have been ttc for a while?

I have had irregular periods since stopping BC in Jan - it changes from 34 days to 28 days back to 34 days. It was even 37 days once....
Does anyone know if they will ever sort themselves out! I thought I would be back to normal by now

I think everyone is completely different and no two people have the same reaction! That's how it seems to work to me anyway!
I've been off bcp for over 14 months and my AF's are still all over the place, and previously i was very regular - could time it to the hour! Now i'm lucky if i can time it to the week!
Other people have had much less trouble though - some settle down within weeks it seems. Guess it all depends on your hormones.

Just wanted to let you know that this is totally normal -you're actually doing pretty well considering you came off bcp in January.

I came off bcp in August 2007 and am still not regular. My cycles have ranged from 31 days to 140 days in the last 14 months!!

Your G.P will tell you it just takes time for the pill to come out of your system (which unfortunately is true) but it you think you're ovulating (even if it's irregular) try giving it til the end of the year. If nothing has happened by then, your G.P might run a few tests to make sure everything is in working order.

I know it is sooooo frustrating, the pill is a curse!! But hopefully you'll be back to normal soon. If you fancy trying supplements, Agnus Castus is apparently good for regulating cycles (try googling it). I've only just started taking it so fingers crossed it works xx

Thanks Mrs R for your good advice, I agree the pill is a curse! I am defo ov cos have been doing the OPKs so hopefully my body is just slightly out of sinc! Its just so frustrating when you keep getting negatives, I never thought trying to get PG would be so difficult, you try for most of your life trying not to get PG and when you actually want to be in the club it doesn't happen. Sod's law, i guess. We've said we will give it till jan and then go the docs.

Have you been using the OPKs? are you having further tests?

I came off the pill in march after using it for 13years.
i am on my 3rd cycle, it took 81 days for first proper period to arrive then 56 days and still waiting for no.3!

I promise myself i will never ever use the pill again.

There's less than a week difference in your cycles. I can imagine it's annoying not knowing exactly when you're supposed to start your new cycle, but it's quite regular. Do you know if your luteal phase stays the same length? If so, you should be able to tell from that when to expect your new period, which might make the 2ww a bit easier.

As for me, I'm having very irregular cycles at the moment too, but -only- came off bcp in May. Right now I'm on the longest so far.

Hope you'll become more regular soon =)

Yeah Im using internet cheapies for the first time, haven't had any positives yet, but ff reckons I ov on CD15 (that would be a miracle lol)

I have just been referred to a fertility specialist, will prob have to wait a few months to see them. My bloods all came back normal, but obviously something isn't quite right.

bloody el, my are regular then compared to yours, i supposed it does take a while to come out of your systm xx

yes LP stays the same 14 days - if I am on 28 days I will ov at 14 and if on 34 days ov at day 20. I suppose its not too bad compared some stories I have read on this site.
I actually came off bcp back in dec 06 and went back on it around nov last year for a couple of months then stopped as I we decided to TTC, my first cycle was 34 days and its only then that I actually measured them anyway. Im am gonna stick religiously to my plan - start testing with OPKS from day 10 and BD everyother night, went I get the green light BD every nite for 3 days in a row, miss a night and then one last 'try'. I read this on 'sperm meets egg' plan - have also been taking the expectorant cough syrup which is supposed to thin CM! So I AM gonna be pg soon!! PMA! ha xx

Something else you might want to add to your list is a glass of grapefruit juice a day. It's supposed to make your ewcm stretchier and better, can't hurt to give it a try!

Oh yes I do that too and th EPO! Quite like the taste of it now! Even got OH on vits too, suppose it all helps! xx

well i aint cum off any BC even and i always ad 29day cycles...for 12yrs! i ad a mc in mar08...after that i had a 29day cycle, then a 38 day...after that 30,again38 and im sure (unless im pg) this one will be 30day cycle, ive had cd21 done even as i had bloods done at consultant 4sommat eles and they tested my hormones and found out i had low estrogen...this is why this mth ive had cd21 tests done....im kinfda convinced that i might only O every other mth even tho my body fully goes through the whole O stage every mth !!! think u will get bk 2reg...but maybe by a day or 2...best of luck x x x
