Does anyone have any information, or know anything about the effects of shift work on fertility and fertility treatment. I work shifts and do 3 night shifts a month, which are scattered throughout the month.

I have asked my manager to take me off of nights while I am having IVF but she has refused. When I saw a Dr at occupational health recently, she said if there was evidence of the nights being detrimental, or if my clinic adviced against the nights, then she would write to my manager asking her.

I am going to ask our FS on thursday at our follow up, but just wondered if any one had any information on the subject?

Thanks

Hi, have never heard of shift work being detrimental during the fertility treatment. However my FS has instructed that I took things easy for the 2WW. When I told him I have taken off work and will be resting at home, he was definitely very happy about that.

I've not read anything hun but I think that's really not flexible of your boss. It's not like you're asking not to work!!!

Sorry your FET didn't work recently :( big hugs to you :hugs:

Hey Caline :hi:

I remember your name from the beginning of the year - sorry to see the news of your recent FET :hugs:

I hope you get a result with your night shifts - I can imagine working night shifts can be really quite stressful and could cause problems with your body clock. During my first fresh ISCI cycle we were really busy at work and I had to work a lot of overtime, I didn't get time for breaks etc and I really think this was not good for me or the treatment.

Wishing you all the best :hugs:

Thanks ladies, I think thats the general consensus is not to get over tired etc. I'm in 2 minds whether to persist with coming off the nights or not.

Miss Monty! How the devil are you?!? I haven't seen you on the IV threads recently. Are you steering clear? So, ICSI in October? Lots of luck with that. Sorry you are still waiting to get your lines.

I am considering a laparoscopy having just had a scan with a gynae consultant today, then plodding on with FET's I guess.

Hi Caline

Yeah TBH I stayed away from B&B for a while, didn't cope very well with failed cycles but feeling much better and stronger now

We've decided to go for a fresh self funded cycle as didn't really feel we have a very good chance with NHS cycle with only getting 3 eggs and 2 embies and only being able to have 1 put back, this time they have increased my menopur dosage in the hope of getting more eggs and we have agreed to have 2 embies put back this time.

I remember you had quite a few frosties? Have you had a laparoscopy before? x
