I have an appointment on Thursday with my Endo. She said that my blood work results came in and she says I will benefit from Metformin, and will give me the prescription Thursday. Anyone have experience with this? And what exactly will it do for me?

Not sure for endo but I have PCOS and have been on it two months, I didn't ovulate at all on my own and I have just ovulated for the second time since being on it! So I know its working, just need to get pregnant now!

My only advise is make sure you eat with it! And hang in there the side effects cam be unpleasant but It is sooo worth it and they do pass! :)

Hope this helps somewhat!

I've been on it since march and I've not seen AF since :/ I don't get any side effects from it and I'm convinced it's doing nothing for me at all. I would have at least saw AF once or twice within this time but nothing. It is different for everyone I think.

Thanks for the replies ladies. I ment Endocrinologist not endometriosis :) I have PCOS aswell and insulin resistance. Missed my period this month again so praying this will work.

Oh ha that makes more sense then!

Goodluck and I'm sure it will help you! It's also good for weightloss for some ppl!

forgot to add its also helped me lose almost 2 stonesx

That's great that you have lost weight.:happydance::happydance: I really need to because my endo said that when she starts my metformin she wants us to use condoms for 3 months until I loose 40 lbs and than get preggo, cuz she says I will have gestational diabetes if I get preggo now. :growlmad: I am going to sound like an idiot but what is a stone? I'm originally from Germany and we use Kilos and now in the US I use lbs. Lol hope I don't sound ignorant lol.

A stone is 14 lbs, here in uk we work in stones and lbs!

I have lost 3 stone all together so 42 lbs!

Although most of that was pre metformin!

Hope that helps
