I live 2minutes walk away from asda and was thinking about taking my little man with me when i do the food shop. So instead of leaving him with my partner and going in the car, I wanted to walk to asda and take him with me. But now this poses a dilemma... How do you get round asda with a ten week old in a pram AND have somewhere to put the shopping? What do you do? Are there any special pram attachments?? I've had a look on the internet and all I can find so far are these

I might be looking in the wrong places but any help would be much appreciated.
(I have a silvercross classic pram)

Thanks ladies :D

i do the same and hang a basket on the pram handles, doesnt work too well though so im usually pushing pram with one hand , basket in the other. pushing pram with my hip to try and turn the corners. hard work! xx

It is hard work but I usually Balance boxes on top of the hood, shove things in the basket underneath and use the inside of the hood in the space at the back for small light stuff  I rarely use a basket (too much hassle) My asda are used to that though and don't bat an eyelid. The security guard actually laughed at me the other week when he seen the packed up pram with LO sitting holding the yoghurts! Just triple triple check you get everything back out so you don't get pulled for shop lifting! lol

you could try a sling? then you'll have both hands free:thumbup:

I have a sling, and a carrier, but cant wear either long enough to do a shop. I have ME and fibromyalgia so cant really manage the weight for long (he's 13lbs at 10weeks)

They really need to invent something for the purpose. lol. A couple of sturdy hooks to pop a basket on or something :D

They so need to invent something! I've had to walk to Asda a few times for a few bits and pieces when DH is away to work in the car, and I've seen me loaded down with stuff in my hands trying to push the pram using my arms, lol! I've recently taken to balancing stuff around the pram and using the pram tray - I felt a bit guilty the first time in case people thought I was shoplifting but what else is there really to do?!! As long as I check I've emptied everything out at the end I don't feel too uncomfortable about doing that now!

xx

I have Anna in the pram pushing with one hand and a basket in the other - it works!:flower:

if i take the pram, i just put everything on top

Could u not use the sling to carry him there and then put him in the trolley whilst u walk round? X

I rest the basket on the cup holder bar thingy and push holding on to the basket and the handles. Alternatively I take little man out the pram and stick the basket where he was and just carry him. He's bloody heavy though so that's usually when he's being grumpy.

i managed to balance the basket under the handle bar today, and rested it on the footrest (harrison faces me)... although he kept kicking the basket and he broke my french stick :dohh:

i ended up carrying it, it was too much of a faff! x

I use a combination of the basket underneath and a big bag for life with the bag handles over the pram handles.. if that makes sense? carries a surprising amount!

If I had to go shopping alone I would always put him in his baby carrier, so I had both hands free but as he's gotten bigger he's hurt my back! I've seen a lot of people put their car seats on top of the shopping cart, but that's pretty dangerous I've never wanted to risk it. :flower:

most supermarkets have the trolley with the bit at the top for putting the car seat on. they are really good!

hehe I have always had to do this as the whole world is twinnest and doesnt do twins trolleys passed the teeny baby stage and well carrying isnt an option.

Its surprising how much you can stash in various places - I managed to spend £60 the other day popping in for a few bits. My buggy has one handle not two that stick up if that makes sense so cant even dangle the basket over the handle.

Some carseats attach to a standard trolley by the isofix clipping in gaps on the bottom of the seat. We have a M&P Primio viaggio and if you get a standard trolley and open up the seat thing, the back bar of the seat and the front cross bar of the trolley are the right size for the isofix spaces to clip over them and then lock into place. (so to remove the seat you have to lift the back handle as you would to lift it off the isofix base) This is a very useful thing to know, but don't think many people do know.

If shopping with a pushchair though I just take a bag for life or two and hang these on the handles and put my shopping in those as I go round. The way I see it is that its no different really than putting items in the basket, as long as you make sure you empty it all then its fine

I managed to walk out of Boots last week with some baby bath products in the pram (forgot to take them out at the till!!!!!). Now i am convinced every security guard knows about me and is on the alert for me!

ahem-since that "event" i bought a :haha:stroller net bag for £5 from Mothercare which fits on the handle bars with clips or belts and fits masses!
