Don't know what to think!!

We have been trying for a baby for the last few months to no success, last month we were really busy with one thing and another and had sex a few days before and the day after my predicted ovulation date, I am due my period on Friday but this last week I have hardly slept although totally shattered, and yesterday my partner cooked some eggs but I said mine tasted really funny and he said his were fine.
I did a test Wednesday as couldn't wait, was negative, was due on today, not arrived yet but had a sharp pain in my stomach to the left of my belly button any ideas anyone?

Yeah today was negative althou with my first it took a few tests and days to get clear positive

I'd wait a couple days if AF hasn't shown I'd test again
