doppler help (sorry again)

i tried posting in twin section but maybe not many twin moms use a doppler. so for those of you with singles who use them...in one doppler seesion how many places...or i guess how far apart on your belly do you find the heart rate? do you find it in pretty much one spot or does it seem like baby moves quite far and then you find it again. i am almost 17 weeks and my twins seem to have very close heart rates but i find them at least 4 inches apart on my belly and am wondering if that is enough distance to know i am finding both? i really wish there was a difference in their rate it would put my mind at much more ease.

I know nothing about twins but at 16 weeks I could only find my baby's heartbeat in a very small area, so if you're finding two 4 inches apart I think it's very definitely two and not the same one. Even now I wouldn't be able to hear the heartbeat over a 4 inch area - maybe a couple of inches but not 4.
