Dr does not test progesterone?

Question, is it common for dr to test progesterone level during blood test? I see so many moms talk about progesterone level but my dr. only orders Hcg.

It's not something that's routinely checked as far as I know, doctors didn't even consider checking mine till Id suffered quite a few losses. Are you having any signs of low progrsterone such as bleeding or pain? Or any symptoms before falling pregnant with ovulation or periods? If not I wouldn't worry as Your hcg levels seem great!

Thanks Maryanne. I had a chemical pregnancy earlier this year but no other signs so far. Guess I'll just have to wait until my 8week prenatal appt.

My doctor never tested my progesterone levels.

I am from the UK , i'm only 6 weeks, but doc did not check my progesterone.

I asked my doctor at my first appointment at 8 weeks as she said they don't routinely test that. But she was happy to add it to my bloodwork for my piece of mind.

I've never had it tested nor have I had HCG levels tested with any pregnancy - I'm in Alberta Canada. So likely varies by location.
