Ok, so we might not get a summer ;)

But I don't want to go out buying vests and suits for them not to be worn...

I keep seeing little dresses etc and I think 'That would look stupid with a vest' ...but I realise she probably won't need one then? :dohh:

With her being a winter baby all I could think about was wrapping her up... and I'm not quite sure what to expect for a 6month old in May and onwards??

hmm not sure what you're weather is like there (how warm it gets) but Hannah (of course she was older, almost a year) wore dresses and shorts etc. all of last summer without a vest under it. If it's warm enough I really don't think they need to be layered up as much?

Earl already wears just a vest and trousers, or a grow with no vest underneath, if we're just pottering around the house. He gets far too hot other wise. I've bought him a lot of vests, shorts and rompers as well as trousers and t-shirts, to last him through the spring and early summer. He hates being warm so this should be a good start. I've also got a couple of light jackets for when it's not quite warm enough.....bless him. Layers are the way forwards.....at least then you can take them off if it's too warm and vice versa.

Daisy was bought some vests that I love for under dresses. They have no sleeves, like proper vests but with poppers on the bottom. I'd love more of those for the summer for when she won't need a cardy over her dresses but unfortunately I have no idea where they are from and I can't even remember who bought them !

Those little short sleeved vests are great. They have some lovely ones in M&S and Asda. I want to get some 'knickers' to go over her nappy for when she's wearing a summer dress, not seen any though!

The knickers I have to go over nappies all came as part of a set with the dresses. I havent seen them sold separately.

They sell frilly knickers in asda! Pack of 3 is £4 x

I thought that the vest helped hold the nappy in place - so would be worried that in the summer if he doesn't have a vest on, the nappy will leak. Is this not the case?

Last summer when it was hot Joseph didn't have vests under his outfits, he wore shorts and t-shirts and then he wore his vests to bed x

I didn't notice any extra leakage, it might depend on the nappy tho x

You can get sleeveless vests from Asda - £2 a pack of 3!!

I have some for Earl for under his t-shirts.
