Due date confusion...

I just got my BFP a few days ago (31st) and I'm still waiting to call a gynaecologist and make an appointment. In the meantime, I'm a bit confused about my due date - I tried calculating it online and got two different answers.

My LMP was on April 25th but according to that, my due date would be Jan 30th, 2014. But if I add my cycle length and/or my ovulation date (either the 14th/15th of May), the due date is Feb 5th!

Any idea which one the doc will use?

Thanks for helping ladies! And HI! :-D

In the UK, the doctors just put in your LMP date and calculate 40 weeks by that until you have your dating scan. If you know when you ovulated, you can work out the exact date just by putting that in but you can only do that if you know for sure. I ovulated on CD17 so was a few days behind the LMP due date when I went for my scan but that was OK as I knew I didn't ovulate on cd14. Congratulations by the way!

Dr will usually go by your LMP until your scan. Your scan will probably shift your date to coincide with ovulation, and they will then use the scan date from that point onwards. HTH x

They will use probably use your LMP, but they will measure the baby in a few week on an ultrasound to get a more accurate date

Ur lmp will b the 1 they use until u get ur 12 wk scan.x

Thanks and same to you! I'll just wait to see what the doctor says then!

Thanks! Is this the scan at 8 weeks? Or 12 weeks?

Most likely 12 week scan- the 8 week one is probably a viability scan and the 12 week one the dating scan :) x

Thank you! Now I'm eagerly awaiting both scans!
