Due Dates Question..

I'm sure someone has posted this previously, but ill need to trail to find answers.
Have been told at both my scans (12 and 20 week) that baby by measurement is a week ahead of my calculated EDD. So that would make me 21 wks+3d and EDD 31 july (instead of 7th Aug).
I know it probably doesn't matter too much as EDD is just an estimate and baby can come +/- 2 weeks but just wondering if anyone has had similar. Especially 2nd+ time mums. Im trying to arrange my mat leave and keep thinking should I use the scan dates or my cycle dates?(which Im almost sure of).

I have gotten different datings from 3 different scans (all different from my date based on LMP). I just remember that scans are only so accurate (and tend to get less accurate the farther along) and really it's more like a due month since anywhere from 37-42 is normal.

I would definately go with your 12 week scan date, as this is the most accurate time to tell the gestation of the foetus due to specific developmental factors (although not so consistent at 20weeks, but as yours is the same then al good lol)

Unless you were charting and know ovualtion / conception dates then EDD could be out anyway -I ovulated on CD9 which is way earlier than my normal CD16 and at my 12 week scan they put me to 13 weeks -which is what I'd have gathered from ovulation prediction anyway.

But as Gina has said -anything from 37w -42w is considered normal.
