Has anyone been told their baby has a duplicate vena cava? What was the outcome? I was just told this today at 20 weeks and am waiting for follow up testing.

No, not me sorry. Just wanted to wish you well. Have you tried looking on the NHS website?

I found an article that states "Double inferior vena cava does not cause any symptoms".

    Thanks

From what I've read the specialist tomorrow just has to make sure the blood is going to the propet places in the heart but the only potential problem is if she develops blood clots later on in life

I see the specialist tomorrow so fingers crossed everything will be ok

Do they mean there is one on the left side as well? If so quite a lot of people have it and are completely unaware until they need a scan or a pacemaker put in or something. One man we found it in was 96!

Yes, I just had my fetal echo and they pretty much said don't worry about it at all! So relieved! Thank you..
