Basically last Saturday I came down with an ear infection. The nurse said it was pretty bad, and I was in agony. Took antibiotics, finished them, pains gone, but I'm still deaf in that ear. I can hear when it's quiet but when there's background noise it's really hard.
Is it too early to be worried? I know it'll affect me being on placement next week (noisy wards and all that)

could be just a build up of wax?

stick some oil in there to soften things up and see the nurse to get it syringed

I would be careful, my daughter almost lost her hearing due to a reoccuring ear infection in her left ear. She did lose her hearing for a while but regained it after they placed tubes in her ears. I say you should see an ENT (ears, nose, throat doctor) in regards to this if it's not as simple as built up wax.

I wish you the best and hope everything is OK. xxxxx

Ditto, I am the same, I had a double infection, middle ear and outer, plus my ear swelled up. I took two lots of antibiotics but I still cannot hear out of my ear, it's awful, I am gonna try the oil, nothing to loose.. Good luck. X
