earliest ultrasound gender determined...

Hello Ladies. I was just wondering what your earliest ultrasound scan was where your baby's gender was determined? I have on scheduled for 13 weeks 1 day... Just wondering if anything could possibly be detected that early. Thanks so much ladies!

Generally 16 weeks - They couldn't tell on my scan at 13+4. xx

Both girls/boys look the same at around 13 weeks they can even be wrong at 16 weeks, but generally they are usually more correct at 16 weeks other then my case being told 85 % boy only to have scan and find out its deffo girl...

I just like to warn people unless its a private gender determination at 16 weeks.. dont go painting the room a specific color..!!!

Was told at 14+1 by sonographer that she was certain it was a boy and had it confirmed at my 20 week scan that he's still a boy lol

think it all depends on how good the scan machine is, sonographers skill and if your baba is co-operative. Not sure about 13 weeks tho may be too early , worth asking tho! good luck and enjoy ur scan

14+6 for me, but it was an internal ultrasound, so I'm not sure if that made a difference or not.

I don't think they'd be able to tell you. I didn't think they started getting their girly or boy bits until about 16 weeks. You can always ask but personally I wouldn't take their word for it and would ask again at any scans you have after 13 weeks

Ultrasound lady said "boy" at my 12 week 4 days ultrasound. She sounded confident. It will be confirmed at our 18 week ultrasound.

at 16 weeks your babys genitals are fully developed, at week 13 though it is possible to tell but not always a great deal of difference as the labia on a girl haven't fully developed and the clitoris can sometimes be mistaken for the beginnings of a penis.... xxx

I found out at 16 weeks that we are having a boy. Sonographer said she can typically tell at 13 weeks! They might be able to tell, but if not, don't feel discouraged.

thanks so much ladies.. I am not expecting to find out until my 20 week scan, but my hubby may not be able to come to this one. I wasn't sure if I should make sure he gets there or not... THis is our third, but had scans at 11 ish weeks and 18 with my DD and DS...

Sounds like more boys are noted early as opposed to girls...

I think normally it's 16 weeks but I have heard girls on here say they have found out at 15 + xx
