"early" ovulation?

Just wondering if this was something that could happen, tried googling but couldn't really find any answers.

My cycles are usually around 35/36 days, but my last cycle was 70+ days.

I believe I ovulated this cycle around CD7 but it's usually around CD21... is this possible? I am only monitoring my cycles by CM so Im not certain but pretty sure.. 4 days later I had a little spotting...

I don't know when I should test - do I assume I did OV then, or should I wait til CD37+ to test?

Hi Linzi, yes and early O can certainly happen. I Oed on day 8 this cycle, but I am sure of that because I chart and do opks. I cannot rely on cm because I don't get any!

If I were you, I would wait 2 weeks from cd7 and then do a test. If it is neg, then try again in a week. Hopefully you will get your bfp soon.

I would make sure that you keep baby dancing just incase, i always get ewcm when af is finished but i do not o then

I've gotten EWCM early but not ovulated until my usual time.
I usually spot a few days before ovulation. It CAN happen early, just sharing what I've experienced.

I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating really early too! I got a positive OPK yesterday (CD6) and today I've had a temp dip... so I'd guess I'm ovulating today (CD7) I suppose I just wait and see if I get a raise in temp tomorrow to confirm it?
I'm pretty new to this (this is my first proper cycle after comming off the pill & getting 'real' AF) so I'm glad I found this thread as I was really wondering what was going on with my body ovulating this early - I could so easily have missed it!!!!

Your temp can rise the next day after a positive, up to 2 days after a positive. You need 3 high temps to confirm ovulation. If you're a visual person like me, you can look at my charts in my signature below and see how soon after a + OPK I ovulated on my cycles, I think I tended to ovulate later rather than sooner after my + opk.
