early pregnancy...low hcg levels...

dont even know what to think...my last period was sept 2 and took a hpt sept 10th and it came out positive....HCG levels were at 42 by the 12th and only 50 by the 14th...DR. said he saw a small sac...I dont know what to think??? He said it could be an early pregnancy...has anyone heard of that before?

Is there no way that what you thought was a period could actually have been an implantation bleed? Those dates do seem a little odd?

i know the dates are really weird....the thing is my periods had been very off since i removed my iud in march...but were finally 7 weeks apart...so i was waiting for my period sept 14th....since the one before was aug 2nd...but I got it Sept 2nd....I did think of the possibility of me being pregnant from August but the u/s did not show me to be at least 4 weeks...and my hcg were only 42....the lab result said 5-50 2-7 days gestational age....
the thing is why are the hcg levels going up ????

How long did you bleed for and how heavy were you?? As it could have been an implantation bleed??

That HCG level rise does not sound normal to me. It should at least double every 48-72 hours. What did you Dr. say?

I hate to say it but it's possible you had an early miscarriage... My hcg kept going up for a while after one of my miscarriages... I hope that's not the case for you. Will you have a third level taken to see whether it continues to go up or down?

Well I'm going tomorrw to get my 3rd draw. Dr said we should know where I stand then. The bleeding was bright red but only lasted about 3 days. No clots and no cramping. Such a mystery!

I dont know if it was implantation bleeding b/c even though there were no cramps or clots like a regular period it was still bright red and enough to fill up a pad...lasted about 3 days...2 of which were heavier than the last....could i have gotten pregnant from august and maybe it implanted late in august since my periods have been so irregular?
I just got back from the lab....ill get results by 2pm.....

08/2-PERIOD
09/2- POSSIBLE PERIOD OR IMPLANTATION????
9/10-BFP
09/12-HCG 42
09/14-HCG 50
09/14-U/S SHOWED VERY SMALL SAC
09/21-WAITING ON HCG RESULTS
