Hi all :)

I had a postive pregnancy test last week on Thursday saying 2-3 weeks and i figured i was 4-5 weeks....a week later which is today i have been for an early scan for reassurance that everything is ok and there wasnt a sac yet.

im confused as my period calender said i would ovulate on the 30th August and that was 3 weeks ago and i thought implantion takes place 7-14 days after ovulation? The lady didnt seem to think anything wrong and that it was just too early - both ovaries are normal, the lining is 15mm and there is no free fluid.

My period was due last wednesday and on the tuesday i had some brown blood hence why when it didnt come on the wednesday i did a test. I hvent been trying to concieve but now that i have got my head round it i really want my baby!!!

xxx

You could only be just 5 weeks pregnant (those conception indicator tests are only 75% reliable when they show 2-3). If you are only 5 weeks it is much too soon?
Why on earth were you having a scan so early? Most doctors should have been able to tell you it was too early and having a scan so soon would cause you more worry than reassurance. A scan in another week should show something there and perhaps the heartbeat if you are lucky. In the meantime try not to worry as it is much too early!

It was more than likely too early sweetie. What they see on ultrasound depends on a few things like the type of u/s, gestation, level of HCG, the size and shape of your uterus. Are they planning to rescan you in a week and/or have they taken any blood tests yet? Try not to worry x

Doctors usually refuse to scan before your HCG hits around 1000-2000 because nothing will show up, and it'll cause more worry than anything else. It could be that you ovulated later than usual and it's just much too early. Try not to panic, I'm sure everything is fine :)

Tash was it a transvaginal or an abdominal sonogram?
