early scan

my first scan is set for next thursday. but i wont be 6w by then. i think they scheduled it based on a normal 28day cycle. mine are atleast 30days sometimes 31 or 32 because they're irregular (it was 33days for my last one). i'll be 5+5 at my appt. do you think that's too early for a heartbeat to start? and i'm thinking they'll see an empty sac because of how early i'll be. i'm trying to think of things in my head to reassure me like maybe it implanted a little earlier.

I saw a girl on here who had a scan done at 5w4d, no heartbeat. (everything was fine, HB seen on later scan)
On a previous pregnancy she had one done at 5w6d and had seen a heartbeat

So you're right between those two and everyone is a little different I guess.
I think its POSSIBLE but if you don't see the heartbeat, I wouldnt' worry just yet. If you can, maybe push it a few days? (hard, I know!! my FS was going to do mine on tuesday but I pushed it to Thursday so i'd be 6 weeks)

My first scan was 5+4, not only did I see the sack but I saw the "baby" *(just a blob) and a very clear heartbeat.

she asked me if i wanted to set it up for tuesday. but my LO's doctor appt is that day too. plus i thought that would be too early so i just said thursday.

hmm. thats a good question lol. if they dont see anything they might have me come back in a week. but after that i dont think it's until a 12w scan.
with my OB i didnt become his patient until i was 11w. and that was when i was in the hospital with HG. they did a scan to see the heartbeat (at 11w). but after that i didnt get a scan until i was 20w and that was to find the gender. the hospital did a scan when i was 8+5 which is when they gave me a due date and it was my first scan for the pregnancy(so my OB didnt do one at 12w). early scans are new to me.

yeah, as long as they'll have you come back a week later (assuming no hb etc), no harm in doing it early this time!

yeah i was thinking i would wanna go early because if theres no HB it'd be fun to go back and see the bean again a week later (hoping theres a HB the next time).
