Hi all :flower:

As the title suggests i am hoping for some inspiration to finally choose a boys name after much deliberation. I am 37 weeks and team yellow (we have the girls name picked) so running out of time.

I really like earthy names like River and Heath but was just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for our shortlist? Me and OH are hippys at heart but don't want to go OTT as the family will whinge.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Thanks xxx

I like Heath, but I was in love with Heath Leadger (RIP) :)

A quick google brings up:

Birch, Blaze, Blue, Breeze, Desert, Flint, Larch, River, Stone, Storm, Sun, Tern, Tiger, Vireo.

Slightly unconventional

I love Birch. ^

What about Rowan? It's more of a unisex name though.

Storm
Sonny
Larrs
Sorren (love this name!!)
Zane
River
Oakley
Pax
Phoenix
Sonnet
Logan
Blue
Brooke
Skyler
Ash
Sage
Zephyr
Joaquin

I don't know how earthy, but they kind of leaned into a bit of a hippie vibe. :hugs:

What about Asher or Ashton? I LOVE these names! My DH didn't like them at all so I wasn't able to use either for our choice of boys name...

Hope you are able to think of one!

i looove the names Parker and Hunter. but OH wouldn't let me use them :(

I love a lot of those (phoenix, storm, sonny etc) but it has to be a kind of sensible earthy to satisy the family lol.

They nearly had a heart attack over River and i don't think thats too OTT really??

Ooooh i'm stuck....

i love the name blue i wanted to call our little boy it but hes dad looked at me like i was mad... i like logan aswell...

but have decided on cairo-lucas :)

I heard Mason, the other day and thought it sounded quite nice.
I also like Noah, Cooper, Theo, Casper, Storm is growing one me. A little one at lo school is called Blaine.

I'm going to show all these to OH and see what he thinks. Blue is quite nice and unusual. I had a cat called Casper so can't go there. We also had Oscar (non earthy!) on the shortlist but everyone said it was a pets name. People keep putting us off our faves.

Yeah Storm is also growing on me... :)

my boyfriend said the same about oscar - a cat's name apparently! i LOVE it!

i like the name gray, and i love the name river.. after river phoenix! what a guy.. xx

Omg I was going to call my baby boy River! Was the name I always wanted...or Sage is another fab nature name. Sadly FOB was horrified by all my choices and we went with Rory lol. I'm still trying to think of a good earthy middle name though...actually I wrote a thread a little while ago and there were some fab suggestions. Lemme just find it! :happydance:

Thanks hun for the link :flower: i'll take a look.

Gray is actually a really beautiful name that i had not considered, and as for Oscar i still love it.... And River was more for me because of the water but for other half because of river phoenix lol. His mum said it sounded too American. Like its a crime lol!! (PLEASE don't anyone take offence to that - just repeating what was said)

Keep them coming, i haven't got long to decide.

Did i mention i'm team yellow??!
This thread might be totally irrelevant if i have a girl :haha: xx

Oh wow just took a look on there, some of those are amazing. I forgot about Eden but don't know if that works for a boy. Its making me rethink my girls name lol! xx

Hi hun I'm totally struggling to decide too, here are some of my list you might like... (not sure if you'll think they are earthy!)

Iolo (pronounced yollow- welsh for 'mighty lord'0
Rhuiri
Rory
Rafferty
Merlin (think it means sea fortress)
Seth
Wilbur (means resolute and brilliant)
Leo
Eli

xx

Im struggling with names aswell, I want slightly unusual names but nothing too far out there, but seems everything I suggest my hubby says no to.

Rather than Gray I personally prefer Grayson, which is one of the names I suggested but my hubby said no to.

My shortlist is:

Addison (Means son of Adam, my hubby is Adam)
Harris
Carson
Kane
Maxwell
Dexter
Kyler (from a trilogy I'm reading)

And thats keeping it more normal so there is a chance my hubby will like them, if it was my choice and I didnt have to consider what he likes I would go abit more out there.

I like Rafferty and Seth, those tie into what we liked about Heath. It sounds earthy but traditional.

I love welsh names too... Pronounceable ones ;) xx
