I think my LO is getting three teeth on top all at once, poor little man. He is usually a very good eater (spoon fed) and if he doesn't like something I just have to mix it with fruit and he will eat it just fine. Lately, meal time has been horrible, he will eat a few bites, then start storing it all in his mouth, which he then spits all out and starts crying and refusing to eat. Do you think this is because his teething? He is still taking the bottle fine, playing with it a little more, but not screaming like he does with the spoon. Is it normal? I just don't see how the spoon with puréed foods would hurt his teeth  maybe I'm just daft. Any advice would be much appreciated :flower:

I think it's pretty normal . . even now, at 19 months, when my LO is teething he will eat next to nothing and just nurse a lot. I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as he's still taking a bottle and staying hydrated. He'll eat when he wants :) Maybe just have some food he really enjoys on hand just in case. My LO loves cold apple sauce when he's teething!

9 months is around the time both my girls didn't want to be spoon fed anymore. Maybe some of it is that?

But yes teething puts Jordan off food as well. But with her it's been more about not wanting to bite down on things like Graham crackers with her front teeth. She just got the top 2 in, the 2 next to them are very close behind.

Yeah Eli has one top tooth and I think three more are coming in on top. I read around this age it might part of an independent thing, but it could also be teething....so confusing lol.

I agree it could be an age part. My little girl has been doing the same and it was getting so stressful! Even savoury foods she liked she refused to eat! Breakfast ad sweet stuff we don't have a problem but it's savoury stuff that gets spat in my face! I spoke to hv yeserday and she thinks it's the independance thing even tho she is teething 2. Have u tried finger food to see how he gets on with that? Xxx

I've tried finger food here and there but not really since he started this. He does have Cheerios and puffs, but I'll have to try other things.
