I have been eating horribly for the past couple weeks! I just can't seem to stop eating sweets and junk! does anyone have any tips on what i can do to try to eat healthier? Its not good for me or my baby and I am having a super hard time resisting the urge!

Your right its not good for either you or baby but unfortunately it seems in pregnancy that what you want to eat and what is good for you is totally different unless your one of the lucky wierdos who crave fruit and vegetables.. i hope this happens to me this time around. I would try and put a few healthy items in between the sweets to try and balance it out a bit... lets face it if its what you want your going to have it. Try not to beat yourself up too much baby will be fine.

i too crept up on the sweets, junk food, so other day i bought lots of diff fruit in, chopped them up put in containers & in the fridge, now when i have the urge something sweet i go straight to the fridge get the fruit out & it takes away the cravings, also remember are you drinking enough fluids? sometimes we think were hungry but were just thirsty x

:haha:I crave pick and mix, especially when im tired (which is always with 3children under 5 HAHA!) bUT I AM ADDICTED TO PEANUT BUTTER!!! (Which has now been ok'd so long as you dont have a history of nut allergy in the familly) so i have brown toast with peanut butter and low sugar jam which i steal from my diabetic partner lol. Grapes and raisins are really good for keeping your sugar levels up, which may be why you crave sweets!! Also, nuts and a couple of olives etc are good substitutes for crisps and salty foods.......although crisps, wotsits namely really do hit the spot. x x x x

I've eaten 6 packets of softmints in the last week...I rang my Mum last night to ask her if that was ok because I didn't want to hurt bubs ... I'm just sooooooooooooooooo addicted!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I started eating really well last week but this weekend have had two macdonalds and steak and chips at the pub and will then snack on cheese and onion crisps and chocolate. even in a morning for breakfast I have had crisps!! I am still taking my multi vitamins and trying to force fruit down me but I think it is just a lazy weekend as hubby is away working so cannot be bothered to cook for one

I have been eating a lot more sweet stuff than I normally would too since I got pregnant, but I'm finding that I'm also loving grapes too as they are so sweet and juicy at the moment - I try and keep stocked up as they seem to help my sugar craving.

I read that junk food doesn't have any affect on the baby it just makes us get fat so its fine if you want it dig in!!!

I find for me sweets and junk food are habit forming. Once I bite the bullet and completely stop eating them, I feel tonnes better after a few days and the craving is gone just about...

all I want is crap but I make sure to have some fruit and or veg during the day too plus I still take Pregnacare

don't feel too bad long as you don't eat sweets morning til night and nothing else then I wouldnt worry!

OMG pic n mix.....drool! I eat tons of the stuff!! I'd walk miles just for some pic n mix :haha: x

After months of horrible morning sickness I'm back to eating meals again - I'm craving chocolate and sweets. But try to have fruit as well so it's a balance.

I find fruit smoothies are great - they give me a sweet sugar rush along with the fruit that's good for me. Try finding a place that does them and treat yourself - it's so much more enjoyable when you don't have to make them yourself!

I'm having the same problem too at the moment. I'm craving sweet stuff, especially chocolate! It's all i can think about! I feel so guilty eating so much crap!!
