I never get very much cream at all. Just a thin line around the top. The odd day there will be more but usually not very much.
I think once our babies are putting on weight then they are obviously getting what they need so don't worry about it. My LO is not a chubby baby at all mind you - although his weight gain has been pretty steady he doesn't have any of the cute rolls of baby fat - I never thought that could be due to the lack of cream! Is Hazel a chubby baby?
NB that off milk that was expressed first thing in the morning (well 5am) my daytime milk tends to have less....there is 2mm on 2oz which is from just before I went out to the horses...about 3:30pm.
NB I think you need to be careful....the amount of "cream" on the milk varies as to when you pump. I notice a big difference in the stuff I pump in the middle of the night and the stuff I pump afternoon and evening. This is why I still pump during the night for Freddie, if I didnt he wouldnt be getting that creamier milk. Over the course of a day a baby who is mainly BFd will be getting that whole variety so looking at an expressed amount you get pumping at say 7pm is NOT going to give you an accurate gauge of what baby is getting.
If you think you might have a problem then pump at different times of the day. I would recommend at 12am-1am, 5am-6am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and then compare....trust me you will notice a big difference!! If after doing this you think there may still be an issue then yes, breast compression is a good idea
We have established that the amount of "cream" in my milk does the job so if you are getting around the amounts I mentioned at the same times of day then its not the cream content of your milk thats an issue.
