Hello everybody, I am curious to know, those of you who went in for your 12 weeks ultrasounds (or earlier ultrasounds) and were told that your EDD's were off, which one are you using? My EDD by my LMP is Oct. 1st, but by my ultrasound is Oct. 3rd. I know that is only a 2 day difference, but I want to have a date to tell people whenthey ask me! So, which one are y'all using??

At me scan i was given a EDD of 2nd of august but at my first mw i was told 27th july which is a weeks difference.
I am going by ultrasound as they are normally very accurate. I have also had my 20 week scan and still seem to be meauring correctly from first scan
xx

LMP by scan is usually the most accurate xx

With Daisy I was certain I knew when I conceived and by my dates she was due 26th March. My scan dated me 2nd April. She arrived on 27th March, which I guess to the medical bods was 39+1 but to me was 1 day late!

My scan date makes perfect sense to me although it's 4 days further on than I thought. I think the scan dates are meant to be accurate but trust your own judgement - you mummy after all!

I knew when I concieved...... but the scan put me a few days ahead. I went into labour on the bloody due date the scan predicted lol! So they were right damn them.

xxx

Hi, by my lmp I was due on the 1st October as I had my last period on the 25th December and have a normal 28 day cycle. Then I went for my scan when I was 11 weeks and 4 days (by lmp) and by my scan they put me at 12 weeks 3 days! I tried to explain to the midwife that this was impossible as my last period was 25th December but she said they take the scan date as the most reliable so that's the date I have now! xx

you have to be careful (sometimes) when it comes to LMP as well because a lot of times they base that on a 28 day cycle.
places like baby centre allow you to enter how long your cycles are and adjust your due date accordingly.

If I go by my LMP my due date is 25th September but I had my scan yesterday & they've dated me at 22nd September. The purpose of the first scan is for dating so I would use this as the more accurate date. They measure the lenght of baby to find out age & this gives them correct reading. But as my boyfriend said the due day isn't that relevant, as long as you've got a rough idea it can come at any time around that point. Whenever it's ready it'll pop out lol x x

My 12 week scan date was the same as my 20 week scan date. My waters went 8 days earlier. Scan dates are meant to be more accurate

go by your scan date as your lmp doesn't tell you exactly when you conceived. and as has been said you can have different cycles. my lmp says i'm 7 weeks today but i know i'm not, waiting for scan to tell me for sure.

You cant really rely on your lmp dates. We dont all know exactly when we conceived, sperm can take upto 5days to reach the egg. When dating from ultrasound, they are measuring the baby plus adding 2 weeks (as they count a 40 week pregnancy starting from your lmp)
All babies grow the same to 12 weeks, genetics dont play a part until after 12 weeks. So early scans are really accurate. Even though there is only a few days difference, stick with your u/s dates :)

Just my opinion, but I don't really think you should pay an awful lot of attention to your due date. Only 5% of babies arrive on their due date (given by scan at 12 weeks), just expect your baby to arrive anything from 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after.

I think too much worry is placed on the due date I know from experience that when your due date comes & goes and everyone keeps calling/texting you asking "Any news?" "Any twinges?" It gets very annoying & also quite depressing.

I think this time when I get my accurate date, I'll add 2 weeks on & give everyone that date, I might get an extra week or 2 without the "Any news?" "Any twinges?" texts :haha:

Thanks everyone. I know that babies don't usually come on their due dates, I was just wondering other what date other people used when telling others when they were due. I guess I will stick with Oct. 3rd as that was my ultrasound date! I was 2 weeks late myself, so I won't be suprised if my first follows my lead!

Not always, I was early, my son was late. I hope my lo comes a little earlier this time :)
