So this am I woke up went to the bathroom as usual wiped and there was brown discharge on the paper......wiped again and again still there.....called the dr. she said not to worry unless it goes through the weekend turns red and crampy then I have to be seen right away...She also said to take it easy today and if it stops today I can keep my normal appt scheduled for the 24th of this month....sorry long story but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and had a positive outcome I cant help but be scared for my little one...... any help would be reassuring...

ps I have the angelsounds doppler the first thing I did even before I called the dr. was check for the heart beat its there and strong. Also all my scans to this point have been normal....

Hiya I just found this post for you.... I was looking as today my discharge was a bit darker and watery than normal...also feeling pretty poorly aswell :(

"I've noticed a few people on here have been asking about brown discharge, and I just wanted to share my story because it might put a few minds at rest.

2 weeks ago I found some brown discharge on my knickers and I panicked. I phoned the maternity unit and the midwife said as long as it was brown and there was no pain or cramping or backache then it sounded fine and I should just go in the next day for them to check the heartbeat.

I would have just worried all night so DH phoned our neighbour who is a nurse and she came round and looked at the offending knickers. She instantly said that it was common at this stage because the baby has started moving and kicking even if I couldn't feel it yet, and it can dislodge old blood from an old period, or old bits of uterus lining etc.

Apparently this is much more common than anyone realises, but it's not something that any of the books tell you! She told me it could easily happen again and I should not worry if it did. I still went up to the maternity unit next day to get the heartbeat checked and it was absolutely fine. I've certainly noticed a lot of movement ever since that evening.

I just wanted to put anyone's mind at rest who may be seeing brown discharge around this stage"

Sarah,
Sorry you are stressing too mama....we will be fine, thank you for the post!

Hiya, no worries. I was searching loads for some positive answer :) The lady who posted went on to have a healthy baby :) x

Hey hun, Ive had brown spotting LOTS of times, I usually get it first thing in the morning mostly when I wipe and then it goes around lunchtime

Ive a doppler that I use when i worry and I know it can be scary but Ive had a scan and made calls to the hospital becos of it and midwife explained its very normal and only to call back if it becomes heavy with cramping.

Try not to worry, I know its easy said, I always take it easy and rest as much as possible and it goes away by itself.

Thank you so much hun x

PS looks like it is already gone fingers xd

I've had brown spotting too! Everything is fine with my son it can just be old blood. First time i was sooooo worried i went the hospital (i rang up and was adviced to go)

now ive had it a few times and i check on doppler i can hear his HB and if i can i just rest and take it easy x

I had this on and off for a while (several weeks ago)- it would go and come back then go for ages... I was told the same brown is old blood and not to worry unless it turns red. I am now 18 weeks heard hb at midwife last week - all is fine so far. I was also told it was quite common.

thanks for sharing your stories ladies helps ease my mind x
